Hello dear friends, the studio and website are now closed for 2024 as I travel and do some jewellery workshops. I'm hoping to bring some fresh inspiration and skills to my practice

Before I left I worked on two limited edition collections, Petal Hearts, and Garden Hoops and a collaboration with glass artist Kate Dansey. These collections will be available throughout the year, I'll be sure to let you know when they are live on the website.

A very belated Happy New Year! I’m in the studio for the next few weeks putting the final loving touches on some precious (secret!) custom orders. I’m also putting together a few garden inspired collections and events that will be dropping throughout the year!

Hopefully you’ve seen some of my updates about what 2024 looks like for adahodgson dot com. I’m taking a creative sabbatical to travel overseas and do some workshops. So the studio and website as you know it will be closed. I’ll be back in 2025 full of new techniques and inspiration!

For now, stay tuned for the first event happening in just one week!

The soft, vibrant petals of a flower, delicately arranged in a natural mandala. Emblems of beauty and joy. Textured 18ct yellow gold softly encases a pink Sapphire, orange Tourmaline and red Ruby, the colours of spring. Faint floral markings surround the band. Back on my pink and green theme for some sweeties to celebrate their love and lives together. In the centre is a Tsavorite garnet which is just the most startling vibrant green. They’re a more durable gemstone then emeralds so are my go to for forever rings. With a pink sapphire and diamond to boot, all set in sustainably sourced 18kt gold. x Ada

Peridot (p**n: pair-uh-doe), the birthstone of August, is known as the stone of compassion and can inspire creativity. In the Middle Ages they posited it could cure depression. And boy, were they depressed back then. It's also the gemstone for the weirdly specific 16 year wedding anniversary. Got one of them coming up? Bonus points if it was in August.

Ciao from Italy! I’ve just finished a five day love festival with my nearest and dearest. It was the time of my life!

Our Story

Ada Hodgson’s signature pieces recreate the fractal beauty of the natural and imaginary world. Her latest work is inspired by the garden, which she's always adored for their overgrown romanticism and mysterious, contemplative nature. This work will evoke hidden, walled gardens full of wonder that look beyond the modern geometry of order. Her first collection, explores a cosmology of imaginary planets: arid deserts that give way to grassy plains cut through by a maze of rivers, and stark bluffs with craggy rock faces that meander along an endless coastline. These planets hold dreamscapes within their landscapes, and when you zoom in on them, there are Secret Gardens to be found.

Working with gold, silver, enamel and precious Australian stones, Ada creates bespoke jewellery that is both classic and contemporary. The artist oversees every stage of the creative process from her studio in the iconic Nicholas Building in the Melbourne CBD, Australia, personally sourcing the finest materials and imparting her signature aesthetic on each and every piece. Ada is committed to locally sourcing sustainable and ethical materials, and uses recycled metals where possible, and Australian mined and cut gemstones.

A qualified gold and silversmith, Ada also creates custom and special occasion jewellery. She is available for consultation in her studio via appointment to help you capture your vision. Her unique pieces are stocked in stores and galleries throughout Australia, including at Kuwaii and Limb in Melbourne, and the Institute of Modern Art in Brisbane.
