Join us in celebrating National Reconciliation Week ( ) as we come together to deepen our understanding of Australia's shared histories, cultures, and achievements. This annual observance is a vital opportunity for every Australian to reflect on our journey toward reconciliation and to consider how we can each contribute to this ongoing process.
This year's theme, "Now More Than Ever," stands as a reminder to all of us that no matter what, the fight for justice and the rights of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people will —and must —continue.
As advocates for reconciliation, it is our collective responsibility to stand up against racism in all its forms and to amplify the voices of First Nations peoples.
SHV has launched a groundbreaking telehealth service for cervical screenings, in partnership with VCS Pathology. Eligible patients receive their self-collection kits by mail, making screenings more accessible and discreet.
Caroline Mulcahy, SHV's CEO, emphasises the mission: "We're ensuring all Victorians have equitable access to screenings, aiming to reduce cervical cancer prevalence."
Since July 1, 2022, self-collected cervical screening tests have been available, offering accuracy and privacy. SHV's telehealth service addresses geographical and privacy barriers, aiming to boost screening participation and reduce cervical cancer rates in Victoria.
SHV encourages all individuals to prioritise their health and participate in regular cervical screenings. Book online via shvic.org.au/book

International As*xuality Day (IAD) is an annual celebration of the as*xual community that takes place on April 6th. IAD is a worldwide campaign promoting the ace umbrella, including demis*xual, grey-as*xual and other ace identities.
A person who is as*xual may experience little to no s*xual attraction to others. Sexual attraction pertains to the level of desire for another person, while romantic attraction involves emotional interest. This means that as*xual people may experience romantic attraction.
Celebrating the aces in your life is one of the most powerful ways to bring visibility to the as*xual community. Whether or not they have disclosed their identity, individuals on the ace spectrum often face misconceptions and judgements. By creating space for the as*xual community, we validate their experiences regarding s*x and emphasise that aces deserve love and acceptance just like everyone else.
In our latest episode of Doing 'IT', we had the pleasure of talking with Imogen Kane, the 2023 Australian Youth Representative to the United Nations. Imogen's impactful role involved travelling across Australia to engage with young individuals, gaining insight into their priorities.
Discover Imogen's reflections on bridging the generational gap, navigating topics of s*xuality and relationships, and the invaluable lesson of active listening.

Hey, STIs Happen.
Surprisingly, the most common symptom of a Sexually Transmissible Infection is no symptom at all. The good thing is that all STIs are easily treatable and mostly curable with the right antibiotics.
In Australia, STIs are on the rise, affecting around 1 in 6 adults. So, if you’ve had unprotected s*x, it might be time to get tested.
Testing is quick, easy, and totally confidential. Book an appointment today at your local GP or s*xual health clinic for stigma-free testing.
