On 11/9/23, a new chapter begins for some amazing students at SEA English Academy! 🌊📖

In August, we took our Pre-Int and Upper-Int students to visit the NGV! Swipe to see some pictures 👉🏻

🏛 1. The National Gallery of Victoria (NGV) is Australia's oldest and most visited art museum. It was founded in 1861 and is home to over 75,000 pieces of Australian, Indigenous and International art, design and architecture;

💡 2. Light installations at NGV's entrance hall;

🖼 3. "The Weeping Woman" (1937), by Pablo Picasso. This painting was stolen from the NGV in August 1986, and the thiefs demanded the creation of a government-sponsored scholarship for young artists as ransom. Threats were made that the painting would be destroyed if their requests weren't tended to; however, two weeks later, the painting was found undamaged in a locker at Spencer Street railway station and returned to the NGV. The theft remains unsolved to this day;

👗 4. A child's smock, a traditional Indian garment for children. This one is from the mid 20th century, and is made of silk, silk and metal threads and mirror pieces;

🏛 ACMI (Australian Centre for the Moving Image) is the country's national museum of screen culture, featuring curated exhibitions of films, television, videogames and digital art;

Hey everyone! Good morning and welcome to our new excursion! 🥰

SEA Elementary and Pre-Intermediate students visited the State Library of Victoria this morning. The State Library of Victoria is Australia's oldest public library and one of the first free libraries in the world. Students visited The Dome and other reading rooms, while our teachers introduced many stories about Victoria's history.

The most fascinating thing about Melbourne is its unique cultural and artistic atmosphere. SEA Elementary and Pre-Intermediate students explored Melbourne's famous street art and graffiti in the city's labyrinth of lanes with two of our local Melbournian teachers this afternoon. 😎

The spirit of Christmas is spreading in Melbourne. 🎅🎄

On the last excursion before the Christmas holiday, we came to the landmark buildings in Melbourne city, such as Melbourne Town Hall, Flinders Street Railway Station and Federation Square. These ancient buildings are covered with Christmas elements, and combined with technology to present a scene of the intersection of ancient and modern.
