Very sad news, especially for the education community. RIP !
RIP to Sir Ken Robinson, an eloquent and indefatigable defender of the role of the arts and creativity in education. His TED talks made him world-famous—his presentation called "Do schools kill creativity?" remains the most popular TED talk of all time—and he wrote widely, including major books on creativity in 2001 and 2015. Robinson was knighted in 2003 for his distinguished career in service to the arts.
He was a staunch critic of standardized tests and compliance-based classrooms, and an unapologetic champion of every kind of creative endeavor—from theater, to music, film, painting, dance, and everything in between. He died yesterday after a brief battle with cancer. His voice will be greatly missed.
Just a reminder to join the Australian Education Union, it is free for students to join and has so many amazing resources and events for teachers. Below I have attached the linkt to some upcoming events and their page, which you can join once becoming a member.

A little quote that is really important to remember. At the moment things are really tough, and sometimes it's easy to feel guilty and/or compare yourself to things you see online or on TV.
However, it is so important to remember this quote because you need time to rest, relax and just have some important down time. What selfcare things have you been doing during lockdown?
Check out this inspiring video to remember that you have a choice to go into autopilot or decision maker.

Hi all, here at CAES we hope you're all doing well. Just remember not long until end of semester!
Just a reminder in these busy last few days of classes, that there is study help available. Accessible through the VU learning hub website.
https://learninghub.vu.edu.au/students/appointments/app/?siteId=1
I just got a confirmation that the suspension of classes will not hinder graduation of students this year from their courses. I know many were concerned of this so please know that via the online model, you will still graduate end of 2020.
As for placements, the Partnerships office is keeping in contact with schools and assessing the situation, but it is too soon to tell whether the current COVID-19 quarantine parameters will still be in place in May.
A quote from the Deputy Dean of Education:
"The block is being held back for 1 week (classes start on 30th of March), and the break next week is taking the place of the break set for 27 Apr – 1 May 2020 (now first week of Block 3).
Students currently on placement would continue placement next week. However, the majority of EBED students (not all) start placement in Block 3. "
This means that Block 3 will begin a week earlier than currently rostered.
Due to the actions declared today, it is hoped that it will be business as usual by that time. Continue to stay vigilant, self quarantine if need be and where possible help out and support your communities during this time. ^_^

Having issues enrolling, our crack team of hackers (or just really nice students) have found a way around the current error, follow these easy steps below! ^_^
NOTE: Once completed, they will not show up in the normal enrolment area, but your percentage wheel will be full (yellow line) and if you look at the same class a place will be missing.
Also be sure to screenshot your enrolment to ensure that you have evidence that you did!
Enrolling issues still continue, we will advise when we get further direction from VUHQ or the CAES coordinators or staff.
Hello all!
As you may be aware, enrolment for next year has begun and very few are actively able to enrol. After speaking with the University Support Teams, it has been relayed that the issue is bandwidth.
Unfortunately you will just have to keep trying and hopefully get through. As traffic gets less, it should be come easier to enrol.
If this is causing stress or grief, please ensure you give the University feedback on this issue so they can improve their servers in future years.
