Yarra Bend Junior Golf

ms. Early Primary School children begin in our ‘Cyclone’ Program, which focuses on developing Fundamental Movement Skills, speed and fundamental golf skills. Late Primary School children enter our ‘S.M.A.S.H’ Program, which develops Fundamental Sport Skills and has an increased focus on developing golf skills. Juniors train once per week and c*cle through a number of different ‘stations’ which contain activities that are both fun and which target the age specific requirements of the group. Your child cannot achieve their potential without first developing athleticism. We take this development seriously and have a team of child physical development specialists led by Dr Tina Maio working side by side with our golf coaches every week to ensure that it occurs. Similar to the Martial Arts, juniors will have to pass a grading to progress to the next level. Golf proficiency is indicated by badge color, physical proficiency by wrist band color. Caps with badges and wrist bands must be worn at training and also serve to assist our coaches to deliver the appropriate part of our curriculum to each junior. On Course lessons and Tournaments are held on a regular basis. Juniors play at Latrobe Golf Club on a modified length course relative to how far they hit the ball and will receive a handicap based on their age and ability. All of our coaches are members of the PGA of Australia, highly experienced and hold a Victorian Child Protection Certificate. The program caters for 5 – 9 year olds (Cyclone) , 10 – 12 year olds (S.M.A.S.H) and 13 – 16 (Wave)
