He received an awesome present in the mail today. His research has been published in the latest edition of the GOAT of orthodontic Journals, The American Journal of Orthodontics & Dentofacial Orthopaedics.

The short answer is no! Approximately 20% of orthodontic patients are adults and here at Pure Orthodontics, we’ve treated people into their 70’s. There are lots of reasons why people may seek treatment beyond their teens, one of the most common being that their teeth have moved with age. There are also those who were unable to access care when they were younger, or there are concerns about their dental health, function or aesthetics. Even Dr Tracey, who is no spring chicken, is having a quick orthodontic tidy up as she recently lost a baby tooth and needs to prepare the space for a replacement.

Some of our patients are truly awesome 🤩. Gorgeous Miss Zoey presented with a very severe bite problem and was prescribed a functional appliance, which is a removable plate designed to hold a growing child’s jaw forward 😁. While it can’t make the lower jaw grow any bigger than nature intended, it’s had an undeniably positive effect on her bite and her ability to get her lips together ✅. Of course, this would not have been possible without Zoey’s incredible compliance 🙌. She is a superstar!! ⭐️

It’s been a big day for “Manny” the mannequin. He’s fainted, had asthma, anaphylaxis and has even needed resuscitating. Pleased to say he survived it all! Well done team 👏🏻👏🏻

We first started treatment with this patient in 2020 and completed treatment in 2022!

This patient had his upper right and both lower baby molars removed to allow the premolars to improve in their positions.
Followed by upper and lower braces to align the teeth and help guide those premolars.

Well there’s no going back now. Our dental chairs back in Moonee Ponds are all packed up and ready for a new home. Thanks to for taking them away and getting them ready for a new home in a third world country where they’re needed and will be put to good use.

Day 1 in our new place and we must admit we love it. Check out our first official patient giving us a wave, our reception area, and a much appreciated surprise gift from Dr Tania Fong and her team . After a few hectic days with the big move it’s fair to say it was devoured in no time! 🤣🤣

It’s been a big week as Phil, I and our amazing team leave Moonee Ponds after 17 years. While there is definitely some sadness, we can’t wait to welcome you to our beautiful new space just up the road in Essendon. We hope you love it just as much as we do! See you soon, Tracey 💜

We’ve had a busy few days at the biggest orthodontic conference on the planet and had an amazing time. There’s lots of fantastic new technology which we can’t wait to introduce, so stay tuned!

🦷 It is mouthguard season and every parent in the dental industry will make sure their kids have a professionally fitted mouthguard.

👍🏻Trust us, prevention is way better than cure! Dr Tracey’s son had a bit of at home dental care and poor Miller had his impression done the old fashioned way because it’s just too hard to bring a scanner home.

⭐️ On the bright side, the dental assistant on duty was rather spectacular!
