We want your children to develop a love of learning, so we ensure that we make play and learning fun and enjoyable for everyone. We'd love to hear from you.
Rose Garden Child Care and Kindergarten has been providing high quality care and education to children and their families for over seven years. We operate five centres in Victoria including Hippity Hop, a sister centre. We are a small family operated business which focuses on just that. ‘Families’, to us family is important for many reasons and we believe family forms the foundation of all childre
Today Orange Room children had a cultural infusion incursion which explored the aboriginal culture through dance, music, art and artefacts.
Let me introduce myself.
Hello, my name is Semina Husarevic and I am the Educational leader at Hippity Hop Early Learning at Endeavour Hills.
I have been an Early Educator for 15 years at our Hippity Hop Early Learning Service. I have my Diploma in Children’s Services and extensive knowledge background and training in programming and practices within the service.
I am extremely proud to lead a team of passionate Early Childhood Professionals who are dedicated to providing high quality care and education.
I am committed to supporting Educators in providing a high quality learning environment for young children. By working closely with our Educators, we can provide children with opportunities to become successful and confident learners. I am very passionate about providing leadership and support to Educators to help deliver highest quality educational programs and environments.
Today the Orange room visited Squatting Frog Plant Nursery as part of our sustainability and gardening intentional teaching program. We explored some beautiful plants and enjoyed a baby chino at the Cafe.

baby-chino before morning tea.
Today we thought to arrange a fun sensory experience with shaving cream and mixing a variety of colours to form other colours. We put some shaving cream on the clear three stand window and Began mixing different colours of paints with the shaving cream using their hands.
The children in the purple room showed their excitement and eagerly placing their fingers all around by leaving lots of patterns, As they were having fun by turning white shaving cream into a rainbow,
For science week Miss Kay demonstrated static electricity on the children by gently rubbing a balloon on the children’s hair, the other children then watched as the stactic electricity caused our hair to stand up on end towards the balloon.
Yesterday the Orange room children had the reptile encounters come to our service to show us and demonstrate the different types of reptiles that we may see out in the wild.
The children showed confidence and gentleness towards all the reptiles.
To celebrate Early Learning Matters Week (5th August to 9th August 2024) the Purple Room had a great excursion opportunity to dine in at MadPatties shop around the corner. This week long celebration’s is aimed at building awareness and understanding of the importance of early learning and the difference it makes to children’s learning, development and wellbeing.
This year’s theme is transformative power of learning through play”, a foundation of high-quality early childhood education.
Today’s excursion allowed us to provide the children with the experience of eating out in a social setting.
Caterpillar biscuits: To further explore children’s interest in caterpillars and butterflies, we decided to bake real caterpillar biscuits.
We discussed all of the ingredients we would need to bake the biscuits. After gathering all of the necessary ingredients and utensils, we began the exciting process of making our treats. Everyone in the purple room had the opportunity to help make our biscuits. We all worked together to measure the wet and dry ingredients, stir the batter, place the baking paper in the pan, grease the pan.
As children are continuously displaying their interest and enthusiasm in relation to insects and bugs experiences, today in the purple room we decided to further improve their inquisition by arranging a sensory exploration with insects stamps. We used other natural provocations: dry leaves, stones, twigs as an additional sensory features and allowed children to freely express their imaginative storyline.
Throughout this week, the children were curious and showed respect toward the First Nations culture.
Today we ventured into our collaborative art area in the hallway. We painted on a big canvas with the theme of NAIDOC being “keep the fire burning”🔥.
We used red , yellow and orange water colours for painting to represent the fire 🔥
Our baby Chicken’s visiting the children for family grouping 🐣☺️
Today was a very creative day throughout all the rooms with the children engaging in different activities for NAIDOC week.
To continue with our NAIDOC themed activities in the pink room the children helped Miss Jane create red, yellow and black play dough.
Miss Cathi then helped the children make green, white and black play dough to replicate the Torres Strait islander flag.
This week we continued to celebrate NAIDOC week.
The 2024 NAIDOC Week theme is keep the fire burning! Blak, Loud and Proud.
Following this theme we set up a cave with painting in which the children used natural materials from Australian plants, such as leaves, sticks and gum nuts, and incorporated these natural materials into their play, showing respect for the land and recycled materials.
Today we started a discussion on NAIDOC week throughout the rooms and we spoke about the significance of the flames 🔥. The Orange room children told the Educators that “they make fire like the First Nations people whilst camping and sometimes to keep warm outside”.
Seaweed Sally Visit
The children were very eager to get a visit from seaweed sally!
We all sat together on the mat and learnt a lot of interesting facts about all different kinds of sea creatures.
The children learnt that 4 of them can fit in a baby whales belly! And that sharks have multiple rows of teeth.
The children explored some of the fun things on seaweed Sally’s table like the shark jaw, seahorses and and quail bones that have dolphin teeth marks on them.
After we had a look at all the fun things on seaweed sally table we ventured over to the tub of living sea animals.
Each child got a chance to hold what they liked.
Today Hippity Hop received a very special package in the mail from Butterfly Adventures. Two juvenile spiny leaf insects arrived with a special enclosure.
The children have been delegated the responsibility of misting the enclosure to keep the “spinies” hydrated and picking fresh eucalyptus leaves for them to eat.
EYLF OUTCOME 2.4 - Children become socially responsible and show respect for the environment.
The children at Hippity Hop are continuing to learn lots as they observe and look after their Henny Penny Hatching chicks.😍
Love the activities at creche. And Flynn my gorgeous grandson enjoying his days x
The Henny Penny Hatching program is back again at our Centre. Each year we look forward to seeing the eggs hatch in the 2-week period that they are with us.
All the children from our babies to kinder rooms will be visiting the chicken and watch them hatch.
The aim of having the Henny Penny Program is to foster children’s empathy and care for the environment and animals. We will be able to see more chicks towards this week which will support our learning of the life cycle of chicken’s.
Children were excited to see the chicken eggs on arrival this morning.
We went to the Kindergarten room to see the eggs in the in the incubator.
The children counted the eggs in the incubator and showed excitement towards the three little chicken’s that were already hatched.
All the families are so excited to see the chicken hatching, waiting to see if anymore will hatch while looking at them.
Making honey slime 🍯 🐝
To extend on insect Week from last week the Educators and the children made honey slime using different materials.
Each child waited patiently for their turn and took joy in helping complete the recipe.
After the slime recipe was completed the children were able to take turns to feel the gooey slime.
The children squeezed the slime between their fingers and stretched it out.
🐝🐝
To extend further on our sensory slime play from the other day, we incorporated honey into our monthly cooking experience today. The children assisted the Educators to make a delicious, no bake ‘Choc Honey Crackle Slice’. Please find the link below if you would like to try this at home. We modified the recipe by adding half the amount of coconut.

The children were eager helpers. Miss Kay presented each of the ingredients for children to observe and smell.
We then mixed them together and set our slice aside for afternoon tea. During this time we payed special focus to the honey and its properties. We really enjoyed using the honey dipper to swirl the golden liquid around and watch it drizzle down. The children then got to taste the honey on pieces of rice crackers. We all agree honey is “YUMMY”.
Today kicks off Insect Week 🐛🪰🪲🦋🪳🐞🐝.
The intention behind it is that children and adults can use this week to learn more about insects, their habits, and the marvellous things they do for our ecosystem. The Royal Entomological Society state it is an annual celebration of ‘little things that run the world’.
We paired our dramatic play bugs and insects with a slime reminiscent of golden honey. Children enjoyed exploring the different textures and their interests drawn by the sparkly elements in the slime.
Today the children in the Orange Room helped make an ocean themed sensory experience.
We added sand, stones, shells, blue water and sea animals. We then added shaving foam for added sensory appeal, some mentioned the foam looked like waves in the water. 🌊
Lights, Shapes and Colours!!
The children had so much fun exploring as they placed different coloured blocks on the projector.
In these photographs the children were positioning an item onto the overhead projector so that the image ‘hit’ the wall, they were then able to create different colours on the projector with lots of trial and error that was shown throughout this experience.
‘International Teddy Bear Picnic Day’
Today the children demonstrated their improving self help skills by making their own fairy bread.
We arranged this experience as a large group session by practising their self help skills to make fairy bread for our teddy bear picnic to celebrate International Picnic Day. 🐻
Today the children ventured over to our project area where all the children take turns in using this space.
Today we interacted with a natural set up themed play dough experience followed along Eid themed cookie cutters in celebration of Eid.
Happy Eid to all our families and staff members that celebrated yesterday and are continuing to celebrate today.
Today the children participated in an art collaboration project. The children contributed to a shared
