太厲害了! 台灣極地超馬運動員 陳彥博 Tommy Chen 征戰非洲肯亞230公里超馬賽，從賽前服用抗瘧疾藥物而產生不適，到面對地形考驗、對手追趕，儘管疲累仍展現強大意志力，以21小時18分鐘完賽奪冠。

Taiwanese ultramarathon runner Tommy Chen (陳彥博) claimed 1st place in the men's division of the grueling 230km For Rangers Ultra in Kenya! Over 5 days, he conquered harsh climates, rugged terrain, and even ran alongside wildlife like lions and elephants. 🦁🐘

Despite facing altitude sickness, gastrointestinal issues, and even getting lost on Day 4, Chen powered through and reclaimed the lead in the final 8km to secure his victory! 🏆

A huge congratulations to Tommy for this incredible achievement—he truly embodies endurance, resilience, and the spirit of Taiwan! 🌍💪

🌿 Strengthening Ties Through Traditional Medicine! 🌿
We had a productive meeting today with the delegation from Taiwan’s Ministry of Health and Welfare, as part of the "New Southbound Traditional Medicine Industry Development and Personnel Cooperation Exchange Program." Both sides shared insights on boosting collaboration between Taiwan and Victoria in the traditional medicine sector.

With Melbourne being a biotech hub and Taiwan’s traditional medicine industry demonstrating global competitiveness—especially with the success of "NRICM101" during the pandemic—there’s immense potential for innovation. We’re excited about the future of Taiwan-Australia exchanges in this field!

我們今天榮幸受邀出席墨爾本大學(The University of Melbourne)與國立台灣文學館(National Museum of Taiwan Literature)共同舉辦的「台灣原住民族文學展」(Sing with a pen-The Heavenly Voice of Taiwan’s Indigenous Literature)開幕典禮。

本次展覽呈現臺灣原住民族文學的近代發展脈絡與英譯成果，介紹代表性作家及作品，期盼能增進南島文化的交流與連結，成為大眾認識臺灣文學的一種路徑，並透過文學與臺灣相遇。

薩克努老師致詞時引用以上言語為例，說明原住民天性純真，面對生活抱持著樂觀直率的態度，日常言語及文字盡是滿滿的純樸及浪漫的生活哲學!

我們很高興能夠在澳洲墨爾本看到台灣原住民文化以文學的形式與當地進行交流，也預祝活動順利，未來台澳原民文化交流能夠更為頻繁!

We had the pleasure of joining the opening ceremony of the "Sing with a Pen - The Heavenly Voice of Taiwan’s Indigenous Literature" exhibition, beautifully co-hosted by the University of Melbourne and the National Museum of Taiwan Literature.

This unique showcase highlights the evolution and English translations of Taiwan's indigenous literature, shining a spotlight on the works of celebrated authors.

"Where you fall, first lie down, reflect, and then rise again."
"There are so many fruits before me, my eyes can't contain them all."

These were some of the words shared by Sakinu Yalonglong, reflecting the pure and optimistic nature of Taiwan’s Indigenous peoples. He highlighted how their straightforward and romantic life philosophy shines through in their daily language and writing.

It's inspiring to see Austronesian cultural exchange in action, offering Melbourne a deep dive into Taiwan's rich literary heritage. We're thrilled to see Taiwan’s indigenous culture celebrated here and wish the event great success.

這個月的大事，就是第79屆 #聯合國大會 即將於9月10日在紐約聯合國總部開議！

今年聯大總辯論的主題為 #不遺漏任何人，強調共同促進當前及未來世代的和平、永續發展及人類尊嚴。🙌

但是！因為中國惡意扭曲 #聯大第2758號決議 內容，抹殺台灣爭取參與聯合國體系的正當權利，台灣2,350萬人民仍持續被遺漏在聯合國體系之外❌

因此，今年我們的首要任務，就是讓國際社會正確瞭解 #聯大第2758號決議 內容，包括該決議並未提到台灣，所以與台灣無涉！我們也呼籲聯合國嚴守中立，尋求適當方式接納台灣參與，讓台灣為世界 #永續發展目標 做出更多貢獻💪

The United Nations General Assembly is due to kick off in 🍎 on September 10, with the general debate to start September 24.

Ironically, the theme of this year’s assembly is "Leaving no one behind: acting together for the advancement of peace, sustainable development and human dignity for present and future generations." However, the 23.5 million people of Taiwan remain excluded from the UN system. This injustice is a result of the PRC’s deliberate mischaracterization of UN Resolution 2758 in an attempt to mislead the international community into believing it to be equivalent to the “One China Principle,” and that Taiwan’s interests are represented at the UN by the PRC. This is clearly aimed at erasing our national sovereignty and our right to be represented at the UNGA.

This year, our government has put forth the following demands:

1. Misconstruing UN Resolution 2758 poses a grave threat to the cross-strait status quo and to regional peace and stability, and this should be remedied by the UN.

2. UN Resolution 2758 does not exclude Taiwan’s participation in the UN system, therefore the UN should provide a suitable path for Taiwan’s participation, allowing Taiwan to contribute towards achieving the SDGs.

3. The UN Secretariat should maintain neutrality, and refrain from using UN Resolution 2758 as a pretext to exclude Taiwanese citizens and media outlets from visiting the UN and covering meetings.

🍍 We had an amazing time yesterday at the Mid-Autumn Festival cooking class organized by the Taiwanese Association of Australia Melbourne Chapter!

Master A-Chung, a former pastry chef from Taipei, demonstrated the art of making traditional pineapple cakes and red bean mooncakes. The event was a fantastic opportunity for participants of all ages to engage hands-on with Taiwanese culinary traditions, planting the seeds of our rich culture in Melbourne’s next generation.

🍜 Alongside the baking, we enjoyed delicious Taiwanese-style stir-fried vermicelli and radish pork rib soup, filling the air with the fragrant aromas of home.

🙏 A big thank you to the Taiwanese Association of Australia Melbourne Chapter for creating such a wonderful platform to preserve and share Taiwanese culture in Australia!

2024年台灣米其林今天舉行公布記者會，公布今年的最新摘星名單。台灣米其林指出，共有49家順利摘星，包含41家一星餐廳，5家二星以及3家三星餐廳，美食天堂當之無愧!

🏅 Highlights include MINIMAL in Taichung, the first ice cream parlor worldwide to receive a Michelin Star, and Taïrroir, Le Palais, and JL Studio retaining their 3-star status.

🍽️ Michelin also recognized outstanding talents: Hsu Yun-shan of Ban Bo for her impeccable service, Yoyo Tseng of Yuen Ji as the first female Sommelier Award winner in Taiwan, and Tim Chen Ting-yu from huist as the Young Chef Award recipient.

又得獎啦!!臺灣 4 位選手蘇柏元、曾向謙、田修明、紀均翰4 位選手代表臺灣參加第 20 屆國際地理奧林匹亞競賽（iGeo Ireland 2024）共獲得 2 金、1 銀、1 銅，總得分排名第 4，僅次於美國、澳洲、印尼，是臺灣參與歷年實體比賽中成績最好一次!!!

Kudos to Su Po-yuan and Tseng Hsiang-chien for claiming gold, with Su highlighting how iGeo sharpened his skills in cartography and observation. Tseng called geography a “tool for understanding the world,” and their success reflects the power of knowledge in tackling global challenges. 🌍📚

Huge congrats also to Tien Hsiu-ming for his silver and Chi Chun-han for his bronze! The entire team, led by professors Ho Lih-der and Wang Sen-do, showed exceptional skill in analysing sustainable development indicators and mastering real-world geography problems under pressure. 🎓✨

In an intense showdown at the Little League World Series Championship in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, Taiwan’s Guishan Little League put up a fierce fight, ultimately falling 2-1 to Florida in extra innings.

While the championship slipped just out of reach, this marks Taiwan’s best finish since 2009. The heart and determination shown by these young athletes remind us all of Taiwan’s proud legacy at the LLWS. 🇹🇼

Their recent visit to Taiwan for the Inter-Parliamentary Alliance on China summit has further strengthened our ties. Taiwan remains committed to collaborating with Australia and other like-minded partners to uphold democracy, peace, and prosperity in the region.

佛塞特及歐妮爾參議員都是台灣的好朋友，上個月來台參加 ，澳洲國會也是在本屆年會通過 後，第一個以此範本通過動議的國家✨

MOFA thanks the Australian Senate for unanimously passing a motion in support of Taiwan’s sovereignty and participation in international organizations.

Deputy Chair of the Joint Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs, Defense and Trade Senator David Fawcett and Chair of the Parliamentary Joint Committee on Corporations and Financial Services Senator Deborah O'Neill sponsored the motion which asserts that UN Resolution 2758 does not establish PRC sovereignty over Taiwan and that the resolution should not determine Taiwan’s status in international organizations, including UN agencies.

Both senators visited Taiwan last month to attend the Inter-Parliamentary Alliance On China summit.

Taiwan will continue to work with Australia and other like-minded partners to protect the shared values of the global democratic community and uphold the peace, stability and prosperity of the region.

🎓✨ Last night, we had the pleasure of attending the study tour presentation hosted by the Australian Institute of International Affairs - Victoria (AIIA-Victoria). Director General Ray Lu shared his excitement about AIIA-Victoria choosing Taiwan as their study tour destination for the second time, in both 2019 and 2024.

He highlighted President Lai's foreign policy, including the Four Pillars of Peace and the New Southbound Policy+, underscoring Taiwan's commitment to working with like-minded nations like Australia for regional peace and prosperity.

Delegation leader Rowan Callick and the AIIA-Victoria team shared insightful reflections on their visit, expressing admiration for Taiwan's political, economic, and technological progress, as well as its vibrant democracy. They emphasized the importance of strengthening ties between Australia and Taiwan, laying a strong foundation for future collaboration. 🤝🌏

8月17日凌晨，SpaceX的Transporter-11航次成功發射，搭載兩顆台灣研製的立方衛星：「信天翁」和「夜鷹」。台灣在衛星系統工程領域又邁出關鍵一步!

「信天翁」將進行海洋資源探勘，「夜鷹」則專注於物聯網通訊測試。這些小型衛星成本低、部署快，有助於台灣在全球太空市場中拓展空間。

Early Saturday morning, the Falcon 9 rocket from SpaceX successfully launched Taiwan-developed CubeSats Toro and Nightjar into orbit! 🛰️🇹🇼 This mission, part of the Transporter-11 program, saw our innovative satellites join over 100 others in space.

What’s special about these CubeSats?

Toro: Equipped with ocean color cameras to help track fishing grounds and monitor oceanic changes. 🌊📸

Nightjar: Focuses on high-speed IoT communications, testing links between satellites and ground terminals. 📡💨

These CubeSats, each measuring 30x10x10 cm, mark Taiwan’s progress in the space industry. Thanks to the efforts of Pyras Technology and Rapidtek Technologies, we're paving the way for future advancements and commercial aerospace ventures. 🚀✨

我國參加2024年第17屆國際地球科學奧林匹亞競賽16日傳來捷報，在31個國家、117名參賽學生中，我國共獲得3金1銀，國際排名第2名（以學生競賽總金牌數計算）。個人賽事方面，代表我國參賽的4名學生中，3位金牌獲獎者為國立彰化高級中學學生何承憲（世界排名第2名）、國立新竹科學園區實驗高級中等學校學生林奕霆（世界排名第3名）及臺中市立臺中第一高級中等學校學生林洋宏（世界排名第12名）；1位銀牌獲獎者為臺中市立臺中第一高級中等學校學生鄒孟熹（世界排名第24名），整體表現亮眼。
