Thanks for visiting us today John Carey! We are so delighted to receive this Lotterywest grant, it’s a fantastic day for the library and we are looking forward to purchasing many wonderful new toys for our members thanks to this grant 🪁🚂♥️

Huge thanks to our hardworking committee members, and especially Georgia and Janica for writing the grant!

If you’re interested in being a part of the committee too and making great things happen for the library and our members, join us at our AGM on the 30 Nov at 7.30pm!

Fantastic to be able to present a Lotterywest grant for just over $13,500 to the Leederville Toy Library this morning.

The great crew of parent volunteers and hard working librarian make the toy library a valuable service for local parents.

Toy libraries cut down on the wastage of toys, helps families save money and creates a great community point!

Congratulations to Una for leading the toy library for the past years - and I look forward to supporting the new executive.

Huge congratulations also to the whole team for working hard to secure this grant.

Love your work!

Hello Members!

It's that time of the year again! We will be holding our AGM on Thursday 30 November 2023 at 7.30pm at the Vincent Community Centre.

The formalities of the AGM will be concluded within approximately 45 minutes. Light refreshments will be provided on the night and it’s a good chance to come down and meet other members and to discuss any thoughts or suggestions you have on the ongoing running of the toy library.

Roles in the Leederville Toy Library Management Committee will also be open for nomination!

Apart from the warm and fuzzy feeling you will get from being a good citizen who contributes to their local community, some of the more tangible benefits of joining the Committee include:

• Free membership
• Borrowing in your own time – no queuing on Saturday morning
• No late fees
• Input and participation into toy purchases

We had a fantastic turn out to our AGM last year, and we would love to see as many members as possible join us this time around. We really enjoy connecting with members, hearing your feedback and suggestions for the running of the Leederville Toy Library.

We look forward to seeing you!

Happy !

Recent research by the Australian Toy Association and Sustainability Victoria1 shows that 220 million toys are sold in Australia each year. Of these toys, 51% are thrown out as waste within 12 months of purchase! 🫢😬

Debbie Williams, CEO of , highlights the role play in providing communities across Australia with sustainable play options.

“Becoming a toy library member is a win for the environment as families share well-made durable toys” explains Ms Williams.

For a small annual membership fee, families have access to hundreds of high-quality toys, meaningful volunteering options and lots of fun with other like-minded members of their community.

We are open tomorrow from 9am-11.30am, so come and join, borrow and let us know if you are interested in joining the committee as we will have a few positions available soon! 🧸🚂

🏈 FOOTYVILLE WAFL GRAND FINAL 🏈

Long story short - Toy library open hours are not effected by the WAFL grand final, but parking and street access will be, so if youre coming this Saturday come on foot, otherwise it might be best to come next week.

*****

Hi everyone, as you may know Leederville oval is holding the WAFL grand final on Saturday.

Oxford Street would be closed from Leederville Parade to Vincent Street as part of “Footyville” from 6am to midnight. Parts of Vincent and Newcastle streets will also be closed.

There will be limited parking available. Visitors are encouraged to walk, cycle or take public transport.

There are approximately 14000 people expected. 🎉 😮

We will still be OPEN for members who want to come in and swap their toys, but just wanted to let you know if you are planning to come, your best bet is probably on foot, given the street closures.

Any questions let us know and we hope you enjoy the festivities on Saturday!
