We convince ourselves that life will be better after we get married, have a baby, then another. Then we are frustrated that the kids aren't old enough, and we'll be more content when they are.
After that, we're frustrated that we have teenagers to deal with. We will certainly be happy when they are out of that stage. We tell ourselves that our life will be complete when our partner gets his or her act together when we get a nicer car, are able to go on a nice holiday, when we retire.
The truth is, there's no better time to be happy than right now. If not now, when?
Your life will always be filled with challenges.
It's best to admit this to yourself and decide to be happy anyway.
A quote comes from Alfred D. Souza. He said,
"For a long time it had seemed to me that life was about to begin - real life. But there was always some obstacle in the way, something to be gotten through first, some unfinished business, time still to be served, or a debt to be paid. Then life would begin. At last it dawned on me that these obstacles were my life."
This perspective has helped me to see that there is no way to happiness. Happiness is the way.
So, treasure every moment that you have and treasure it more because you shared it with someone special, special enough to spend your time...and remember that time waits for no one.
So, stop waiting until you lose ten pounds, until you gain ten pounds, until you have kids, until your kids leave the house, until you start work, until you retire, until you get married, until you get divorced, until Friday night, until Sunday morning, until you get a new car or home, until your car or home is paid off, until spring, until summer, until winter, until your song comes on, until you've had a drink.... there is no better time than right now to be happy.
Happiness is a journey, not a destination.
Work like you don't need money,
Love like you've never been hurt,
And dance like no one's watching.

46.3% of babies born with tongue tie in Spain!
European Journal of Paediatrics:
"We found a prevalence of neonatal ankyloglossia of 46.3%, of which 70.2% was symptomatic (clinically significant ankyloglossia was present in 32.5% of the neonates born in 2018 at our hospital)."
"We considered “clinically significant” or “symptomatic” ankyloglossia using the Hazelbaker tool for appearance and function when the mother experienced ni**le pain or bruises, or when the neonate had difficulty latching onto the breast. A total of 1392 neonates were born at our center in 2018. Tongue-tie was identified in 645 infants (46.3%), of which 453 were symptomatic (70.2%). Thus, clinically significant ankyloglossia was present in 32.5% of the neonates born in 2018. Their distribution according to Coryllos’s types were as follows: 45 type 1 (7.0%), 230 type 2 (35.6%), 321 type 3 (49.8%), and 42 type 4 (6.5%).
Conclusion: The prevalence of symptomatic ankyloglossia in our population is higher (32.5%) than studies have reported to date. Actively assessing for tongue-tie increases its diagnosis."

Prevalence of neonatal ankyloglossia in a tertiary care hospital in Spain: a transversal cross-sectional study - European Journal of Pediatrics Ankyloglossia, or tongue-tie, is a congenital anomaly in which a short lingual frenulum or a highly attached genioglossus muscle restricts tongue movement. The reported prevalence of neonatal ankyloglossia varies between less than 1 and 12.1% depending upon the study population and criteria used to....
Did you know Full Breastfeeding at discharge in NSW was 66% (2022 Mothers and Babies Report) down from 72% in 2018. How much has it dropped since then? Who is doing something? Do yourself a favour and get educated. lactationleap.com.au
Morning giggles to brighten your day 🤣
If we think of returning to calm as a path, it would make sense that the more times you travel that trail, the easier and more familiar it would become. This is how self-regulation works.
This is not a lesson that can be taught in a lecture or over the dinner table. It is a journey of showing up that we make with our children by our side. ❤️

Some days, I sit back and just marvel at how far we’ve come together as a community 💞
When I started The Nurture Programme, it was with a simple goal in mind - to create a space where neurodivergent voices are not just heard, but amplified.
Now, as we gear up for the 2024 Conference, I’m filled with so much gratitude and excitement for what is to come!
This conference isn’t just another event, it’s a gathering of hearts and minds, all dedicated to making real, lasting change.
We’ll be hearing from incredible speakers who live and breathe this work, who understand the struggles, the triumphs…and everything in between.
And the best part?
We get to do it together, from the comfort of our homes.
Learning really doesn’t come more accessible than that 🙌🏼
Let’s continue to break down barriers, challenge outdated thinking and create a space where everyone can thrive 💛
Will you be joining us?

Creating a home like this gives children the resources that no amount of money can buy: resilience, empathy, accountability, and self respect.
So much admiration for everyone breaking the cycle
Seems harmless. Isn't. ✨

Queensland's first ever publicly funded homebirth program is now live on the Sunshine Coast. 🎉
A team of obstetricians, midwives, medical staff, and mums have played a major role in developing the service that will now give parents more choice when it comes to their birthing options.
For the past several months, the team has been planning the new service and systems testing using simulations. This is to ensure our frontline health staff know how best to support women birthing at home and to treat any complications that arise with mother and baby in a timely and effective way.
You can express your interest in a homebirth by talking to your GP or sending an email to [email protected].
Congratulations to the team for developing this Queensland-first service that is set to provide more options and support for women and their families to make informed choices about their maternity care! ❤️
This exciting new service is funded by the Putting Patient's First 2024-25 plan, which aims to provide more maternity care closer to home, for Queensland women.
