We have made the tough decision to close the Arctic Studio doors permanently and wanted to thank each and every one of you for the support, laughs and love these last 2 year's. It's time to focus on our little family & enjoy every moment while they are still young.

We kindly ask that anyone with a Gift Certificate or any Service Credits to please book in before 29th May 2024. We will open extra spots up and work around the clock so no one misses out. Sundays will also reopen up until we close.

Without doubt the most common concern we hear in relation to floating is the fear of feeling claustrophobic!

This is a completely understandable concern for those of you who have never floated before & hopefully this helps to alleviate that feeling 🍃

For the entire duration of your float, you are 100% in control of the tank door and can open and close it at your leisure, depending on what makes you feel most relaxed 🙂

It’s entirely common for people new to floating, and sometimes even regular floaters to leave the tank door fully open during their 1 hour of gravity free bliss 💙

As mentioned above, the only slight drawback is that the water temperature may reduce slightly quicker than it normally would. Although, this shouldn’t even be too noticeable 🌊🌡️

It’s also very common for us to hear from our clients that our tanks are much larger than they imagine prior to their first float, it immediately puts you at ease to see there’s more than enough room to stretch out in all directions 🙆‍♀️🙆‍♂️

Never floated before? Here’s what to expect during your first float. 🤔

In your private room, you will find an isolation tank filled with 500kg of specially formulated Magnesium Epsom salts added to 1000 litres of water, creating a high buoyancy solution that comfortably eases the effects of gravity. The feeling is similar to that of floating in space.

The water is warmed to a temperature close to body temperature, which when settled in makes it difficult to distinguish where your skin ends and the water begins.

Once you close the lid (optional) and turn the interior light off (again completely optional) the quiet darkness allows your mind to drift into the deepest state of relaxation possible.

Whilst the mind stays dreamily alert it gradually shifts from it’s usual waking beta state to generate deep alpha, theta or even delta waves - This state of mind is the same state advanced meditators might reach through hours of meditation & years of training. In our floatation tanks you can achieve this exact same state in a matter of minutes by just lying back into the silky warm water that is our private sea of bliss. 🌊🌊🌊
