Just grab noodles, proteins and garnishes while you’re in store and you’ll have dinner sorted.
So head on over to Maloneys Grocer and, when you arrive, make sure you ask EXTRA LOUD where all the new Laksaboi pouches are being stocked. Seriously, don’t hold back.
Got friends in the East? Let them know in the comments: Laksaboi is back in town. 🍜
One Hundred Thousand 📜
We recently discovered the original meaning of the word Laksa, coming from the ancient Sanskrit language.
Amazing, right? So what does this mean:
It’s thought 100,000 could be referring to the many various types of laksa that exist or the number of ingredients a laksa has.
We also like the idea that this translation is describing the wild sensations and combinations of flavour and texture in every bowl.
Maybe, it’s all of the above.
Any other ideas?
📣 Good news!
We’ve teamed up with independent grocers in Petersham.
So you can now get your Laksaboi pastes and ready-to-eat pouches, 7 days a week.
Want us stocked in your local grocer? Comment or tag below who we should hit up next!

With just a week left of the Darwin Laksa Festival remaining, we’re just on track to hit our $1,000 fundraising target for ! Thank you so much to everyone who has donated 👏
Your donation really matters right now as the rural communities in the NT battle now face their biggest COVID outbreak yet.
Vaccination rates are very low in these communities, and many are locked in to very hot and overcrowded homes, putting lots of pressure on families.
Your donation will go directly to support TeamHEALTH’s Mental Health support programs, such as:
- 7-Day Support Line
- Assisted Housing
- Su***de Prevention
- Mental Health Education
Let’s get behind our Indigenous communities now and donate! Every bit counts.🧡

To celebrate the Darwin Laksa Festival this year, we’re going to try and raise as much as we can to support mental health in Darwin and the surrounding communities.
We fell in love with Darwin when we made our last-minute trip there last year for the Laksa Festival. If you didn’t know (and we didn’t), Darwin is a unique cultural melting pot of Indigenous, European and Asian influence with such a diverse history.
However it became clear to us from our time there that there are a lot of really disadvantaged people that live in the area. The Northern Territory tragically has the highest su***de rate of any state or territory in Australia by a significant margin.
Instead of making the trip this year, we’re raising funds for , a grass-roots, non-faith based organisation that has a number of programs to support urban and remote communities in the Northern Territory with mental health issues. They include:
- 7 day help-line
- Supported accomodation
- Su***de recovery and prevention programs
- Mental health education
- Community hub
If you’d like to support this great cause and also get into the spirit of the laksa festival, YOU CAN:
🍜 Post a story of you slurping on a hot lunchtime laksa (outside in the sun if possible) just as if you were at the Darwin Laksa Festival, with the hashtag .
🍜 Get you and your friends to donate to the fundraiser on Gofundme (link in bio, or search )
Laksaboi is also donating 10% of the price of every kit sold for the rest of the month.
We want to raise minimum $1,000!
If every one of Laksaboi’s social media followers donated $1, we will have doubled our target.

The Darwin Laksa Festival has begun! 🍜
To celebrate our favourite ever Festival and to raise money for their local community, we want you to share a snap on your story slurping up a steamin’ hot bowl of laksa in the heat of our summer, just as if you were up in Darwin enjoying the festival.
Get out on your work lunch break or on the weekend, and grab a big spicy bowl of laksa (see last photo for recommendations).
We want your big sweaty mugs all over your social stories, using the hashtag
We’re putting this on to celebrate the festival and to raise money for a local Darwin charity ‘TeamHEALTH’, who are a mental health support group, looking after communities in urban and remote Northern Territory (check out link in bio).
Our target is to raise a spicy $1,000 for this awesome charity. We will be donating 10% of the price of every laksa kit sold for the rest of the month to the fundraiser. But we’re going to need more than that!
If every one of our 2,000+ Facebook and Instagram followers donated $1, we will have doubled our fundraising target.
So either grab a kit from us, or go out and enjoy any one of the fine laksa establishments across Sydney to get into the spirit of the festival and contribute to a good cause!
Here are mine and the mugs to get the ball rolling.
Find the link in our bio to donate or order.

A few weeks ago I got a call from a random number when I was out with a friend in Henson Park.
On the other end of the line was .
I’ve had the pleasure of getting to know Sharon over the last six months after I dined at her restaurant and then from regularly bumping into each her at the grocers, where we both get our produce.
“Ben, I want to help you out…” Sharon tells me on the phone after I’d told her about my idea to open a virtual pop up a few days earlier.
She went on to offer her restaurant and facilities to me on Mondays and Tuesdays when it’s closed so I can make my start.
All my thanks go to her for such a huge and totally unprompted act of generosity. This pop up is not possible without her!
Make sure you try her incredible food out, available Wednesday to Sunday.

No cooking required! Monday’s and Tuesdays only, you can now find Laksaboi on Menulog, delivered from our virtual pop up restaurant in Petersham.
