This year, we are sharing why your kidneys are two good reasons to take your diabetes seriously. You can reduce the risk of developing kidney problems by managing your diabetes, having regular kidney health checks and early treatment1.
Here are some ways to promote healthy kidney wellbeing:
- Keep your blood glucose levels within range.
- Be active. Try to aim for 30 minutes of physical activity on most days2.
- Reduce your salt intake. Less salt helps to ensure good blood pressure control2.
- Stay hydrated and drink water2. Water is the best option for healthy kidneys.
