Not only do our after school programs support children academically, but they also provide them with a safe haven to learn, play, and make friends.

At our after school clubs we provide children with a warm, nutritious meal, we help them with their homework, and we support them both emotionally and spiritually - giving them a safe space to express themselves and share their concerns.

Many children have built solid friendships through our clubs, removing the sting of loneliness and exclusion they have experienced at school.

God's wisdom is freely available to us - what a gift! We pray for wisdom for the students we support as they decide on which paths to take next; higher education, vocational opportunities and employment.

Even though schooling up to a certain age is either free or mandatory across Eastern Europe, the cost of sending a child to school can be expensive. For those who live near or below the poverty line, this cost is unaffordable and triggers a high rate of educational drop out, limiting future career opportunities.

PRAYER REQUEST FROM BULGARIA

When education is not seen as a priority, it is not uncommon for children living in poverty to drop out of school and start working instead.

Mission Without Borders' after school programs are designed to support children with their educational needs, from homework to additional tutoring. By helping children grow in confidence with their education and progress academically, our aim is to reduce the amount of children who are dropping out of school and education.

Here at Mission Without Borders, we believe that education plays a key role in breaking the cycle of poverty.

For many children they have grown up in families where education is not prioritised or is not obtainable due to the high cost of school supplies and educational fees. We have seen that due to a lack of education there has been a cycle of illiteracy, dropping out of school early or a struggle to secure better paying jobs.

HOST A SOUP KITCHEN FUNDRAISER!

Help feed the hungry across Eastern Europe by hosting a Soup Kitchen fundraiser this winter.

The money raised goes towards Soup Kitchens that help people in desperate need. The soup kitchens work in partnership with the local church, MWB staff and volunteers, who provide hot, nutritious meals for elderly people and others who are unable to leave their homes. The meals are delivered five days a week and served alongside the good news of the Gospel.
