Kennedy Region Scouts
Kennedy Region is part of Scouts Australia, Queensland Branch. There are 7 Scout Groups in the Region
Kennedy Region is part of Scouts Australia, QLD Branch and is located in Townsville, North Queensland. It covers an area from Home Hill in the south to Ingham in the North and Charters Towers in the West. Kennedy Region Scouts has it's own Scout Shop, where Scouts and their families can purchase uniforms, badges, hats etc. The shop is run by volunteers, which is always looking for help. Contact the shop on their opening day - Saturday mornings 9 - 12 for further details.
Earlier this week, we announced the theme for this year's Region Camp: Night at the Museum!
Along with the theme, we also revealed a logo for the camp. But it's more than just a logo, as it's the badge all participants will recieve!
In true fashion, we asked a group of youth members to design the badge, and the submitted design was made by Chris from Florence Bay Rover Crew. Here are a few of the aspects that he included in the design:
π¦ The shape and colour of the base is the same as the badge that Larry wore on his uniform in the movie.
3οΈβ£ The three steps of the museum represent the three districts in Kennedy Region.
βοΈ The eight five-pointed stars represent the eight groups in our region and the five sections of each of those groups.
πͺ The five pillars of the museum are coloured for the five sections which are the pillars of our movement.
π¦ And the dinosaur skull because dinosaurs are cool.
We love the design, and think Chris did a great job creating it. What do you think? Are you excited to get this badge at the camp where history comes alive?

Kennedy Region Scouts were provided the opportunity by Townsville Autism Centre of Experience (TACE) to connect with a range of educational institutions, training providers, employment agencies and other organisations tonight. It was a great experience to hear about the services and support available for people living with Autism. It was heartening to highlight during our presentation the options available for all to develop through the Scouting program.
A SIA project just waiting to happen. Sounds like fun.
