Zali, Sienna, and Rhian starting a Yeo revolution at the Illawarra Steelers 'It's a family reunion every session.'

Illawarra Steelers winger Zali Yeo made her mark in the Harvey Norman Women’s Premiership (HNWP) against the Cronulla Sharks last Sunday, her first run-on appearance of the season, coming away with two tries to her name.

Zali, the sister of Penrith Panthers Co-Captain Isaah Yeo, is not the only Steeler with the famous Yeo surname, playing alongside cousins Sienna and Rhian for the first time.

The versatile Tayleah Handcock has been selected at fullback for the Steelers Round 5 away clash with the Central Coast Roosters this Saturday. Handcock scored a try and kicked four conversions filling in for the injured Jessica Patea in the custodian role last week.

Illawarra Steelers' next gen Paseka and West looking to make big impression 'It's been a big learning experience.'

2024 has been a season to remember for Illawarra Steelers winger Maria Paseka.

A member of the Illawarra’s premiership-winning 2024 Tarsha Gale Cup team, Paseka also made her Under-19 NSW State of Origin debut and graduated to the Steelers Harvey Norman NSW Women’s Premiership side, scoring four tries in her last two games.

Despite all her success, Paseka says she is still a student of the game as she adjusts to the open women’s grade. Joshua Houldin reports.

Get along to the Steelers v Eels tomorrow at Collegians Sporting Complex, part of a triple header with St George Illawarra lower grades.

A host of former Steelers juniors will run out for the Dragons including Lyhkan King-Togia, Jackson Shereb, Savelio Tamale, Connor Muleisen, Dylan Egan, Ryan Couchman, Josh Coric (NSW Cup) and Ben Rumble, Campbell Watchirs, Tom Kirk, Ashton Ward, Jett Lui Jacob Webster, Travis Barrett-Handcock and Kyan Hjaltason (Flegg).

The Muhleisen family will be well represented with siblings Connor and Shae playing in NSW Cup and HNWP respectively.

Teenage prodigy Tori Shipton scored a brace of tries on her Harvey Norman Women’s Premiership debut for the Steelers against the Wests Tigers in their 50-6 win last Sunday.

Illawarra Steelers Open Women's Coach Jamie Szczerbanik has named 17-year-olds Tori Shipton and Koffi Brookfield for the Round 3 clash with the Parramatta Eels at Collegians Sporting Complex this Sunday, 21 July.

Both made impressive HNWP debuts in last week's win over the Tigers in a side boosted by the late inclusion of Indie Bostock in the centres and Trinity Tauaneai at lock.
