We are excited to announce the rest of 's crisis team! Read below to learn more about Mert, Paula and Matilde!
Mert:
I’m Mert, a first-year student at KU Leuven’s Faculty of Economics & Business. I’ve been involved in MUN conferences since 2020, where I’ve had the chance to work in multiple roles such as Secretary-General, Chair, Crisis Team member, along with organizational positions. My main passion has always been Crisis Committees, where I’ve gathered a lot of valuable experience.
Paula:
Hello! I’m Paula and I’m an economics student at Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne University, but I'm originally from Madrid. I'm a big fan of chaotic scenarios so I'm very excited to be joining this year's crisis. In my free time, I like watching sitcoms and annoying my friends. I can't wait to meet everyone in Leuven!
Matilde:
Hello! I’m Matilde, a second year bachelor student of International and European Law at the University of Groningen.
If I’m not losing my mind over EU case law, you’ll find me deep in some random rabbit hole, my headphones blasting anything from Prokofiev to the newest musicals on broadway. From historical figures to literary phenomenona to global politics or modern art, I always manage to find some oddity to keep my mind interested and occupied.
I started MUN in 2021, I’ve chaired three times and I’m looking forward to joining you all in Leuven and making it an unforgettable conference!
We are thrilled to introduce you to 's crisis team!
Meet Tomás, Ana and Yoana! Read below to find out more about them:
Tomás:
Greeting everyone! My name is Tomás and I am a 21-year-old law student from Lisbon where I was born and raised for most of my life. I am currently a member of both LisboMUN and the Lisbon School of Law MUN Society. I started doing MUNs in 2021, but in that short period I have done over a dozen MUNs, as either delegate, chair or organizer. This will be my third time in KULMUN, once before as a delegate and once as chairperson. I'm incredibly excited to relieve everything this amazing city and conference have to offer and I'll do my best for it to live up to its name!
Ana:
Hello everyone! I am Ana, from Vigo, Spain, and I have the honor to serve as Frontroom in the Crisis Committee at this conference. I am studying at the European Law School at Maastricht University, having graduated with a BA in Global Studies from the University of Salamanca, where I started my MUN journey. Since then it has been non-stop for me, including being part of the MUNSAL Executive Committee for this year’s conference and many to come. Even if human rights and diplomacy may be my main areas of interest, I am also a musician and definitely a cat person!
Overall, I am very pleased to be part of this conference and from my side, hope I can make this experience for Crisis delegates an exciting one!
Yoana:
Hello, my name is Yoana Nikolova. I am a Master's student in Public International Law at Leiden University and hold a Bachelor's degree in International and European Law from the University of Groningen. I am originally from Bulgaria, although I wouldn't describe myself as patriotic - except when I hear music from home. I love writing and am proud to be a published author.
I have experience in well-being, diversity, and inclusion, both within my faculty and externally. For instance, I served on the board of Ganymedes, and briefly worked for Bulgaria's Ministries of Education, Foreign Affairs, and Transport.
I am a passionate debater, and I enjoy traveling across Europe to MUN. I am excited to share my knowledge in my role as your Chair!
Newswire announcement! Meet Lucía González and Maurice De Jong! Keep reading to find out more about them...
Lucía:
I am Lucía González, a 21-year-old Global Studies graduate from Salamanca, now exiled at Université Libre de Bruxelles for a Master’s in Political Science, International Relations and Security. My list of interests might get long but reading and going out are probably at the top. When it comes to MUN, all I can say is that it has one of the most special spots in my heart. Some of my favorite memories ever come from organizing and participating in MUNUSAL and from going abroad and reconnecting with all the amazing people I have met through this. Moreover, the Press is to me what makes a conference even more special and successful. I am keen on the idea that being editor-in-chief for KULMUN 2025 will be life-changing (as there are people in the top seats that I love making it possible), and I could not be more excited about it. See you in March!
Maurice:
Hi everyone, I’m Maurice de Jong, a 21-year old Dutchie from The Hague. I studied International Relations at Leiden University, and followed it up with the MSc Cybersecurity Governance. I’ve been involved with MUN for over a decade now, but have never had the chance to be a part of a press team. I’m thus super excited to contribute to the Newswire this upcoming conference! When I’m not MUNing, you can find me in the gym, cooking in one of my three woks, or playing games with friends. See you in Leuven!
ECLAC Chair announcement! We are thrilled to introduce you to Marián Palacios Fernández & Jáchym Šetka! Keep reading to find out more about them!
Marián:

I have participated in around 15 different MUNs, where I have been a delegate, chair, and member of the Secretariat. Outside of MUN, I am passionate about art, reading random Wikipedia pages, cooking for my friends, and collecting books I will not be reading soon.
Jáchym:
Greetings to all! My name is Jáchym, I am currently 20 years old (at the time of KULMUN 2025 I will be 21 already :), hail from Prague, Czech Republic, and am in my third year of my bachelor studies in International Relations at the University of Groningen in the Netherlands. I am extremely happy and excited to be one of your Chairs for the ECLAC committee. As an econ nerd myself, I look forward to all the fruitful debates and discussions to be held. In addition, I currently serve on the Board of Directors of TEIMUN, our own Groningen-based MUN organization, as the Fundraiser. Hello/Bonjour/Privet 🥸
My name is Stepan and I’m delighted to be chairing the European Parliament at KULMUN 2025! I am currently in my second year of my BA in European Studies, which I am pursuing at Maastricht University in the Netherlands. I’m a pretty international guy; being Russian, Belgian, and American, all the while spending most of my life in Switzerland before moving to uni 🇨🇭.
I participated in my first MUN conference in 2019, and have been hooked ever since, having been a delegate, chair, organizer, and overall MUN nerd 🤓.
In my free time, I like to hang out with friends, make a fancy dinner every once in a while, and go on walks. I’m also a piano player and have been getting into guitar recently as my new obsession :)
Can’t wait to meet you guys!!
Miha:
My name is Miha Persyn and I am a student of international relations at the Faculty of Social Sciences in Ljubljana. I am Half Belgian and half Slovene. Growing up in an international environment allowed me to meet lots of interesting people from all around the world through the work of my parents, something which I continue to do through the world of MUN. I discovered MUN in the last year of high school and fell in love with it as soon as I started. In my free time you can find me travelling and annoying my friend with IR related trivia. Hope to see many of you in Leuven!

I started participating in MUNs, including MUNUSAL, MUNLawS, and PolMUN as a delegate in 2022, then started chairing and organising MUNs in 2023. After last year's amazing experience as a delegate in KULMUN, I am super looking forward to being your chair for NATO, together with an amazing co-chair! See you all soon!

Fatama:
I am Fatama Jabin, 23 years old and will be serving as your UNESCO chair. As a 7th grader, I walked into my first MUN conference at my school in Riyadh and fell in love. Since then, I have participated in conferences in many countries. Currently, I am studying economics at the University of Bonn and so far it's been the longest time I’ve lived in one place. I grew up trilingual, being equally fluent in Bangla, German and English. I love a good debate, teaching, trying (and failing) to make new recipes and feeding my tiny house obsession (small houses, oftentimes on movable trailers).
