The summer “Support Your Parks” weekend is just around the corner, July 20-21! Do you have any plans yet?

This event happens seasonally, on the 3rd full weekend of the month (Saturday & Sunday UTC). These are ‘activity weekends’ where the main purpose is to get out in the parks, and have as much fun as possible.

Barrie Amateur Radio Club Field Day continues today until 2:00 pm / 18:00 UTC. Looks like a break in the weather ( for now!)
A team worked through the night on two radios. We have over 450 contacts so far.

The American Radio Relay League (ARRL) / Radio Amateurs of Canada (RAC) Field Day is held
annually during the fourth full weekend in June. This year’s event will be held on Saturday, June 22
and Sunday, June 23, beginning at 2:00 PM Saturday and running until 2:00 PM Sunday.
This is Amateur Ham Radio’s version of Open House!
Licensed Amateur Radio Operators from Barrie will be communicating on site with other operators around North America and beyond!

This year, the Barrie Amateur Radio Club (BARC) will hold a traditional Field Day June 22/23
weekend at 617 Penetanguishene Rd, at Crown Hill. We will be using the grassed parking area to the
north of the former church.

Jamboree On The Air (JOTA) is this weekend, October 21/22. The Barrie Amateur Radio Club will be fielding 4 Ham radio stations throughout Scouts Canada Camp Wildman giving youth the opportunity to get on the air with other youth from North America and beyond. Our call sign for the weekend is VA3JOTA

Muster point CIBC Run for the Cure comms

This Sunday, October 1,2023, The Barrie Amateur Radio Club will be out at the CIBC Run for the Cure in Barrie assisting the organizers by monitoring participants throughout the run and walk and providing communications to summon first responders if required. Drop by our tent at Heritage Park and say hello. We’ll be there from 9:00 am till about noon.

The Barrie Amateur Radio Club is proud to announce that at its next general meeting, Jason Tremblay VE3JXT, Radio Amateurs of/du Canada Community Services Officer, will be speaking on the modernization of the RAC Field Organization and the new Auxiliary Communications Service. Please join us for what should be a very information presentation. ALL are welcome to attend.

Please park in the back parking lot and enter through the back door. For those that may have physical impairments, you may park in the designated areas in front of the school and use the front door.
