At the time of publication in 1998, Lansdowne is reported to serve 1,000 children and youth in the community. Today in June 2024, the Lansdowne Annual Report shows 3,651 infants, children and youth served in the last year, and 2,970 additional families waiting for assessment or start of services.

Celebrating the last day of school for the year we thought to share some pictures from when Lansdowne Children's Centre was based in the Lansdowne Public School, in Brantford.
Lansdowne Children's Centre staff would support children in the school environment, removing kids from class to practice skills in communication, occupational therapy and physiotherapy.
Lansdowne Children's Centre was founded in 1974, and remained in the Lansdowne Public School location until 1998, when the children's treatment centre moved operations to 39 Mount Pleasant Street in Brantford, the former Jane Laycock School building.
Brandt Group of Companies joins in support of Lansdowne child ambassador Lexa MacMartin and family.
Lexa was born with Trisomy 21 (Down Syndrome), and has already overcome two open heart surgeries. ❤️❤️
From only a few weeks old, Lexa has worked with Lansdowne Occupational Therapists to help her eat and drink safely.
Lansdowne Physiotherapists have helped Lexa to strengthen her low muscle tone.
Lansdowne Speech Team has helped Lexa communicate her needs and have collaborated with her school to create an accommodating experience where she can thrive.
The Thanks A Billion program supports communities by giving to organizations that Brandt employees and customers care about, currently contributing over $20 million to community programs.community
Thank you, Brandt, for your sponsor partnership and support of the programs and services accessed by nearly 4,000 infants, children, and youth who connect with Lansdowne Children’s Centre.
Thank you, MacMartin Family, for being strong, caring ambassadors for all Lansdowne families.

Remembrance Day is a time to reflect on the bravery and sacrifices of others, and to share messages of hope, peace, and for the deliverance of those who are still caught in conflict.
According to Unicef,
"Around the world, attacks on children continue unabated. The number of countries experiencing violent conflict is the highest it has been in the last 30 years. The result is that more than 30 million children have been displaced by conflict..."
Lansdowne Children's Centre Foundation is honoured to share that we were selected as a 2023 Canada Post Community Foundation grant recipient!
The $5,000 donation contributed to Lansdowne Children's Centre's ability to enhance the CARE camp program, adding additional evening recreation programs that included nearly 100 more children and youth clients.
The recreation programs for children and youth, ages 4 to 18 years old, who access services for communication, physical and/or developmental needs through Lansdowne, included Swim Nights, Bowling Nights, Indoor Playground Nights.
Said Sarah Thompson, manager of Recreation Services at Lansdowne Children's Centre,
"Recreation delivers programs not funded by the province. Through recreation programs, supported by generous donations like this, our children and youth clients can improve their quality of life, while having fun!"
Recreation programs in the community create a more inclusive environment, wtih full citizenship experienced by all children and youth. Participation builds confidence and capacity, and opens doors to reach mainstream offerings and lifelong committment to healthh and wellness.
Recreation programs provdie opportunity for skill building in leisure settings, and an opportunity for developing children to explore their interests and the environment around them. It's also an opportunity to make new friends and practice social skills.
