Nya:węh/Niá:wen to everyone who participated in the this June! The community support was overwhelming 🧡

Your contributions during the month of June went towards the restoration project of the former Mohawk Institute Residential School. Thanks to our community of supporters we were able to raise $26,292, which will assist in our vision is to turn the building into an Interpretive Historic Site and Educational Resource, shedding light on a significant chapter in Canadian history.

The winner of the grand prize has not been announced yet, but you'll be the first to know if WCC is selected! The work being done here at the Woodland Cultural Centre, would not be possible without your generosity and continuous support. Nya:węh go:wah!

We did it! Told our stories in an amazing event in Oakville. Grand Mothers Voice was organized by Jody Harbour and her volunteers. Grandmother Renee and Gail Whitlow by her side, they proudly brought the Indigenous culture to people who may not have the opportunity to learn about the people they share this continent Turtle Island. Students visited.
An interesting event happened to my niece and l while we were at our table. A young fellow approached us and asked what we were doing. we told him we were taking names for a book I wrote. My niece asked him why he came over to the table. He said we looked lonely, just sitting there by ourselves. He was such a sweetie. He told us he had been adopted and he had a family. He showed us he was so trusting with such a good heart like so many of our people. A protective brother came over and he introduced him to us. I think about him and hope that he is with a good family.
I told him my book Dream Visitors would be out in 4 to 6 weeks and if people wanted to buy a copy, I was taking names for it. He said his dad would want one so he gave me his phone number. See what I mean too trusting. I hope he doesn’t get in trouble. He means well.
Memory Keeper by Dawn Hill. Dream Visitors… by me. Watch for us. ❤️
