Through our Nicaragua Nutrition Program we have been distributing food baskets within the Jiquilillo community!
This program continues to be a tangible way to support families and we have seen improvements in the health of children as a result.
Patients in our nutrition program experience various health challenges as well as the effects of extreme poverty. These factors have significant impacts on children’s physical, cognitive and emotional development.

Alaia is from Nicaragua. She lives on the outskirts of the city dump where her family works to pick through the garbage. They recycle some things for money and look for things they need, sometimes even scraps for food.
Children like Alaia and their families could benefit greatly from our community feeding programs. By partnering with Speroway, together we can help thousands of families get access to food.

Magical day at Speroway Jiquilillo Nicaragua English class yesterday thanks to the incredibly talented Ingrid Van Opstal-Tamez who created these beautiful paintings on the classroom doors. Students were mesmerized as Ingrid included each one in the creative process and in the final masterpiece. Unforgettable experience shared seeing art coming to life for the first time for these children.
