History

The Burlington Youth Soccer Club was first established as the Burlington Police Minor Soccer in 1962. With only four teams representing less than 100 players playing games on Central Park in the summer of 1963. A lot has changed in the past 52 years, now with more than 600 teams playing games on a weekly basis, development programs for boys and girls aged 3 to 21, multiple indoor facilities for more than 1000 players as well as programs for coaches and referees.

The BYSC took its current name in 1975 becoming incorporated in 1975 as the Burlington Youth Soccer Club and soon after claiming its first Ontario Cup in 1979.

Even though the Club was growing and progressing, it wasn't until 1987 when the BYSC moved into their first office space, a feat that had a lot to do with Don Lomas, who was responsible for the move and was also president from 1995-1999. With a new office, the Club started to hire staff with the Club's first Technical Director, Frank Dunleavy. The Club also formed a board of directors during this time.
