Why?

In a typical way, in their desire to gain power to fulfill their aims they put aside their societal goals and became just Liberal Lite, supporting a party that is chasing the Conservatives to the right.

Now they support an openly fascist, genocidal, racist, regime that has been openly breaking international laws for 75 years.
The party - both federal and provincial parts - would rather give up any principles they once espoused than stand up and risk the backlash from the Israeli lobby.

Why would Jama want to belong to such a party?
She should leave the party and sit as an independent!

The same applies to any member of NDP who is sincere about working for the benefit of the majority of Canadians, because the party no longer supports the people.
At best, the NDP can only claim to be trying to reduce the worst excesses of capitalism. And they are failing even at that.

What happened happened and cannot be stopped. What IS happening can be. Currently Israel has cut off all food, water, electricity and gas to Gaza. Its 2 million residents are being starved to death. I try to keep my mind open.... more and more it seems one can't really trust any information.

I am inclined to believe that climate change is real - I can see it happening!
But to what extent is it man made, and to what extent could it be mediated?

There is seemingly credible arguments rhat the past 100 years have been unusually stable but in the previous 100,000 the Temps were all over the place.
Is that true?
Either way, If there is climate change there will be cataclysmic storms and other side effects.

Our global civilization probably can't survive that.

That aside, the micro plastic in the oceans, lakes, soil and air and thence in our food is probably a greater threat, more long lasting and insidious and there is nothing we can do about it except maybe not making it any worse, but that won't happen and wouldn't make a noticeable difference anyway.

It's not a problem with a solution. It's a situation with NO solution.

If we were to stop all pollution today, there would be no more transportation or farming ( yeah - except for horses, feet, hand tools) and the human die-off would start in days and increase rapidly until there were very few of us left.

I would guess that the likelihood of any govt doing that approaches zero, although it looks like WEF, UN, WHO, etc are working hard on the population problem. Had your jab yet, and your semi annual 'safe and tested' booster?
We are definitely well into overshoot and it is doubtfully that the planet's ecosystems were ever capable of sustaining a human population much over half a billion.

My current belief (subject to change hourly, although this belief has been growing for years now) is that the base cause of all our problems started with agriculture, civilization, and organized religion.
