According to the CDC, the COVID-19 vaccination is recommended for people who are pregnant, breastfeeding, trying to get pregnant now, or might become pregnant in the future.

Evidence about the safety and effectiveness of COVID-19 vaccination during pregnancy has been growing. These data suggest that the benefits of receiving a COVID-19 vaccine outweigh any known or potential risks of vaccination during pregnancy.

There is currently no evidence that any vaccines, including COVID-19 vaccines, cause fertility problems in women or men.

Our clinic's COVID policies and procedures are still in place.

QR registration codes are now in effect. If you are a new or returning patient, scan the appropriate QR code on the door to add your child to the daily queue.

All individuals 2 years of age and older are required to wear a mask at all times when inside the clinic. Only ONE parent is allowed inside the clinic to accompany the patient as we try to keep clinic capacity at a minimum. All patients are required to wait in their vehicle or outside upon arrival. Rooms are thoroughly sanitized between patients. When it's your turn to see a pediatrician, you will receive a text message to make your way inside.

We’re pleased to announce the 20 finalists of the Vaccine Community Innovation Challenge!

Each finalist will get $25K to transform their creative idea into a campaign to help spread the word on vaccines within their communities.

All campaigns will also promote the importance of continuing to follow public health measures, such as using multiple preventative practices: avoiding crowded spaces, properly wearing masks and washing your hands.

The campaigns will run for 12 weeks. A grand prize of $100K will be awarded to one of the 20 finalists, for them to reinvest in the protection and promotion of public health in their community.

As with other skills and milestones, the age at which children learn language and start talking can vary. Knowing a bit about speech and language development can help parents figure out if there's cause for concern.

Here are some things to watch for:

- by 12 months: isn't using gestures, such as pointing or waving bye-bye
- by 18 months: prefers gestures over vocalizations to communicate
- by 18 months: has trouble imitating sounds
has trouble understanding simple verbal requests
- by 2 years: can only imitate speech or actions and doesn't produce words or phrases spontaneously
- by 2 years: says only some sounds or words repeatedly and can't use oral language to communicate more than their immediate needs
- by 2 years: can't follow simple directions
- by 2 years: has an unusual tone of voice (such as raspy or nasal sounding)
