🌟 Heritage Hero Spotlight: Hénoc Muamba 🌟

Meet Hénoc Muamba, last year’s Heritage Legacy Award recipient! 🏆

Raised in Mississauga, this Congolese-Canadian football star is a three-time CFL all-star and a devoted father. His journey is marked by perseverance and a commitment to giving back. From playing at St. Francis Xavier University to winning the Grey Cup with the Toronto Argonauts in 2022, Hénoc’s career is stellar.

Beyond football, Hénoc runs the mentorship program “Eagle Vision,” engages in motivational speaking, and hosts the podcast “Muamba Moments.” He aims to establish the Muamba Foundation to support Congolese youth, driven by his belief: “If we can all think about other people a little bit more, the world would be a better place.”

Since 1997, Anne has been a cornerstone of the Streetsville community, dedicated to preserving its rich history. As head archivist for the Streetsville Historical Society, she modernized archives and secured the move to the Leslie Log House, expanding the collection to over 18,000 items. Anne also organized tours, publications, and the 150th Anniversary celebration, while training volunteers to continue her legacy.

Mississauga’s Heritage Source

Heritage Mississauga, also known as the Mississauga Heritage Foundation, was founded in 1960, by a small group of volunteers. Originally called the Toronto Township Historical Foundation, this charitable organization supported the move of the Bradley House to its present location and worked to open the home as Mississauga’s first Museum facility in 1967.

In 1994 the City of Mississauga officially took over the running of the Museum Complex and Heritage Mississauga took on the role as the only independent organization devoted to city-wide heritage matters. Heritage Mississauga moved into The Grange in 2004.

From its offices at "The Grange", the historic Robinson-Adamson House (1921 Dundas Street West, Mississauga), Heritage Mississauga provides the community with a comprehensive Heritage Resource Centre. The Centre offers a number of services to the community including:
