This is common sense. Pushing people into poverty, the dark and the cold is not a winning environmental plan. It is cruelty. I am grateful for how the Premiers are pushing back on the carbon tax. May the Senators now join.
We continue to believe for each and every hostage held by Hamas to be brought home soon. Let the horror stop.

We are disappointed to report to you C-314 was defeated yesterday in Parliament. The final vote was 167 (against) to 150 (for).
This is a very slim margin loss.
If passed, this bill would have stopped the Liberal expansion of Medical Assistance in Dying for the mentally ill.
Because the bill was defeated yesterday, the expansion of MAiD is still set for March of 2024.
The bill was supported by the Conservative caucus and a few Liberal and NDP Members of Parliament. Click the link below to see how Members of Parliament voted: https://www.ourcommons.ca/Members/en/votes/44/1/423
Thank you to each of you who took the time to email your Member of Parliament. Every effort matters, and it is appreciated.
Please continue to express your concern to our leaders at every opportunity.
For more understanding of what this could mean for Canadians, and what you can do to help the mentally vulnerable, please see recent episodes of Faytene TV on the topic.

In early October, we alerted you about the Liberal government's plans to expand Medical Assistance in Dying (MAiD) to the mentally vulnerable as of March of 2024.
We also shared with you that Member of Parliament Ed Fast has proposed a bill (C-314) to stop this expansion.
That bill had its second hour of debate on October 5th. Click here to watch Ed Fast's speech in that debate: https://www.facebook.com/ed.fast.10/videos/1041482560368681
Many of you took action that week and emailed Members of Parliament asking them to support C-314. Thank you.
It was our impression that the vote would also be happening that day. It did not -- and that is good news. Why?
It means we still have time to continue contacting our leaders to ask them to support it. The vote is now expected to happen this Wednesday, October 18th.
If C-314 passes, it will mean that the expansion of MAiD eligibility for the mentally ill will be stopped.
If it does not pass second reading, the bill will die.
Here are three things you can do right now to help ensure this bill does not die at second reading vote.
ACTION POINTS:
1 - Pray. // Please take a moment now to pray for the passing of this bill, and please pass this information on to your prayer groups.
2 - Contact your M.P. // Our M.P.s listen when they hear directly from Canadians. Please take a moment to email your personal M.P. right now and ask them to vote IN FAVOUR of Bill C-314 when it comes to second reading vote this week. Click here to find your M.P.s contact info using your postal code: https://www.ourcommons.ca/Members/en
3 - Contact ALL M.P.s // If you can, please take it a step further and email all M.P.s asking them to vote in favour of the bill. Click here for a list of all M.P. emails: https://www.4mycanada.com/contact-mp-senator
4 - Please share this with your friends and encourage them to sign up for the 4 My Canada email list: https://ow.ly/1pK350PWPLE so they can get these updates directly.
Please take a moment to sign and share this important petition for parents and children in Canada.
When you sign this, you are signalling to our elected officials that:
1 - You believe that governments should never hide things from parents when it comes to their children.
2 - You believe that funding should follow the educational choices of the families.
In signing this, you are also applauding the many elected officials who have recently stepped out to pass policies to ensure parents are informed about what is happening with their children at school.
Sign the petition today. Thank you.

This time last week, Canadians from sea to sea were zipping up their bags to head to Quebec City for the Conservative Party of Canada Convention.
Several of you were there! Way to go!
Conventions are where the grassroots voice can be heard on issues we all care about. When policies are passed at convention, it signals to the leader (in this case, the Hon. Pierre Poillievre) what the grassroots cares most about.
Here is a sampling of some of the policies that members passed:
SUPPORTING VETERANS: A policy to improve compensation for indigenous war veterans who lost their Indian status because they served in the forces.
SECURITY: Policies to increase focus on combatting foreign election interference.
SECURITY: A policy to strengthen Arctic sovereignty.
FAIRNESS: A policy to ensure federal employees are hired based on merit, not demographics.
BUSINESS: Increasing the threshold for small businesses to register to collect GST/HST.
ENERGY: A policy to encourage clean energy supply and innovation and a policy to support getting Canadian energy to markets.
SUPPORTING MOTHERS & FAMILIES: A policy to remove GST on essential maternity and newborn products.
PROTECTING CHILDREN: A policy to strengthen legislation against s*x offenders.
GENDER SURGERY: A policy prohibiting life-altering surgical procedures to treat gender confusion in minors (aka s*x changes for minors).
FEMALE SPACES: A policy to protect women's only spaces, such as women's bathrooms, as being exclusively reserved for biological women.
MANDATORY VACCINATION: A policy opposing mandated vaccines and requiring informed consent.
PALLIATIVE CARE: A policy supporting amending the Canadian Health Act to recognize palliative care as a right for all Canadians.
MEDICAL ASSISTANCE IN DYING: A policy opposing the extension of euthanasia and assisted su***de to minors and those with mental suffering.

Q: Trudeau is plummeting in the polls & it feels like the nation is turning on him. In spite of this, he still has 2 yrs as PM with a majority coalition. He & NDP have no motivation to call an election. How do you see this rolling out? Would love to hear your thoughts.

NB mom launches petition supporting Higgs' battle for parental rights “If his political career falls over this, it will send a message to elected officials nationwide that standing with parents is political su***de,” said Faytene Grasseschi.
Please read, share and do the action points.
The end of last week was an eventful one. We have two important things to highlight.
NEW BRUNSWICK PREMIER TAKES A STAND
Under Premier Blaine Higgs, the New Brunswick government made an amendment to a bill to guard parents' relationships with their children when it comes to gender identity decisions.
"Education Minister Bill Hogan introduced changes to Policy 713....Among the changes is a new requirement for teachers to obtain parental consent before they use the preferred pronouns and names of transgender and nonbinary students under the age of 16." - CTV News
A poll (https://www.lifesitenews.com/news/majority-of-canadians-support-requiring-teachers-to-inform-parents-about-childs-gender-identity-poll/) conducted by Leger showed that the majority of Canadians agree with this.
In spite of this, Premier Higgs has received criticism from his caucus for the stand. He may be facing a leadership review over the issue.
How this all plays out could have a real impact on other provinces.
If Premier Higgs is successful in protecting families, it will encourage other premiers.
If his leadership position falls over this, it will discourage other elected officials from taking a stand.
PLEASE TAKE A MOMENT TO EMAIL:
Please take a moment and email all the members of the NB PC Caucus (https://www.pcnb.ca/en/our-team) and let them know that you support the changes to Policy 713, and the Premier's stance, which keeps parents involved in these life-impacting decisions for their children.
