A new exhibit focussing on the history of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police Pembroke Detachment was unveiled Thursday, May 16 at the Upper Ottawa Valley Heritage Centre. This exhibit was created by local community members as advocates for preserving local heritage, who wanted to educate the public about the contributions of the RCMP and showcase the diverse array of police work carried out by the force.

The exhibit features an overview of the RCMP’s presence in Pembroke, its detachment office and its evolution over the past century and a half.
