One of our most popular educational programs is the Lil' Gardeners Club, which is for children aged one to five and their caregiver.
The Lil Gardeners' Club is a fun opportunity for children and parents/caregivers to interact in a green, non-structured environment. Multiple stations with different activities are set up to provide different experiences, and children get to plant a cutting to take home.
We have two semesters each year - one in fall and one in winter. Participants must register beforehand, as space is limited. There are four dates in each semester, usually once a month. Registration fee is $40 per child and $30 per adult.
The fall semester of Lil Gardenerss Club starts Tuesday, September 17, and there is still space available in the Tuesday PM and Wednesday AM sessions!
Registration is done on our website through Eventbrite (see the link below). Don't miss out on this wonderful opportunity for your child!

Feature Flower Friday!
Our feature flower this week is the sensitive plant (Mimosa pudica), which got its name from its ability to fold in its leaves when touched. The quick response to being touched is due to a decrease in water pressure within the leaves, which causes the leaves to droop and is a defense mechanism for the plant. After a few minutes, the sensitive plant will perk back up.
The sensitive plant is a flowering plant that belongs to the legume family (Fabaceae), which is the same family as peas and beans, and like all members of this family, it is able to fix nitrogen. Nitrogen fixation is the process of taking atmospheric nitrogen and converting it into a form that is accessible and easily used by plants, like ammonia. The sensitive plant is native to the tropical Americas and has been introduced to other tropical areas across the world, some of which consider it an invasive w**d.
Come see this unique and interactive plant for yourself!
Come eat lunch with us! We open at noon tomorrow (and every Friday) for that exact purpose!
Bring your lunch and enjoy it in our tranquil indoor garden 🥪
We are open every day from 1 to 4:30 pm, and from noon to 4:30 pm on Fridays. Admission is by donation.
