MSA is also providing transportation, so you don’t have to worry about driving or parking. The bus will leave promptly at 2:00 PM from the William Riddell Centre, so be sure to arrive on time to avoid missing out. Food and drinks will be provided!

The bus service will be entirely free, students who would like to use the service MUST register online at urmsa.org, and are responsible for following the schedule.

By the Grace of Allah, we are pleased to announce the 2024 Khateeb Training Porgram, in conjunction with MSA Campbell, IAOS, DFIC, and Islamic Relief Canada, delivered by our beloved Imam Mohamed Masloh.

This program is aimed at teaching and training the pillars and etiquettes of the Friday Khutbah, the most important weekly Ibadah we do. As our Muslim community expands, the need for more Khateebs grows, both on campus and at the mosques.

So join us Saturday, June 29th, for a full program that will teach you how to deliver a khutbah, and give you an opportunity to make your own and practice in front of Imam Mohamed Masloh.

The program outline can be found in the second slide, and will end with a free lunch for all those who RSVP on our website.

Alhamdulillah, Sheikh Saeed Noman joins us in-person this upcoming Wednesday, June 12th, for an enlightening lecture on the Fiqh and Understanding of Marriage in Islam. He will discuss many key aspects, such as rules before and during marriage, and what to look for in a potential spouse.

Clarification on post regarding food in the Lazy Owl

Dear U of R Students,

On March 26, the UR MSA published a post on its Instagram account claiming that the meat served at The Lazy Owl on campus is not halal. The UR MSA has since discovered that this information is not credible. We have received confirmation from URSU that the meat is indeed Halal.

The UR MSA would like to firstly apologize to URSU for publishing the unsubstantiated claims. While the UR MSA thought the news to be credible at the time it received it, it recognizes that it was not appropriate to spread such news without further verification. We also would like to apologize to our members for the anxiety and confusion this may have caused.

URSU has made available the Halal certificates. We thank them for that. The certificates are attached.

The interests of our Muslim members is a top priority, and we are keen on maintaining a strong relationship with URSU and the University’s administration to that end.
