Serving the Community Since 1987 Our services assist new immigrants, seniors, farm workers, women and youth.

Progressive Intercultural Community Services (PICS) Society is a registered non-profit providing a broad spectrum of programs and services which includes Employment Programs, Settlement Services, Language Services, Social Programs and Housing Services. We work diligently to provide responsive programs that address various issues within our community by promoting harmony and intercultural understanding for the purpose of building a more inclusive and mutually respectful society.

We were honored to welcome Mr. Masakui Rungsung, the Consul General of India in Vancouver, on his first visit to the PICS Society. He is a career Diplomat who joined the Indian Foreign Service in 2001 after obtaining a Masters in English Language from Delhi University.

We extend sincere gratitude to Mr. Masakui Rungsung for his insightful meeting with the PICS leadership team, his meaningful interactions during Digital Skills for Seniors training, and his visit to the PICS Seniors Care Facilities. His recognition and support to the PICS Society and the "Guru Nanak Diversity Village" project inspired us to enhance our community engagement and impact. PICS Society is looking forward to fostering stronger collaboration for a brighter future!

PICS Society was honored to host The Honourable Marc Miller, Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship of Canada, and Sukh Dhaliwal, Member of the House of Commons of Canada, at PICS Head Office.

They met the PICS leadership team and had a meeting with PICS Settlement Team to share valuable insights on enhancing services for supporting newcomers. They also attended a seniors’ workshop, visited the Early Years Program, and concluded their visit with a tour of PICS Seniors Care Facilities.

PICS’ Youth Team is pleased to present Active August: Basketball Camp.

We will be hosting a FREE basketball camp for youth age 13-18. Attendees will have the opportunity to improve their basketball skills and participate in games arranged by professional coaches. Lunch will also be provided to those who attend.

The camp will take place in Surrey from August 6-August 9, with the exact location provided to those who register. Registration is now open and spots are limited so please fill out the registration form as soon as possible!

Recently, we were honoured to have met the renowned actor Mr. Yograj Singh for a meet and greet session at the PICS Head office.

PICS Society was privileged to host Bajrang Punia (an Indian professional wrestler) at PICS Head Office. During the visit, he spent quality time with the PICS Leadership Team and had lunch at PICS Senior Care Facility.

Bajrang Punia is the only Indian wrestler to win 4 medals at the World Wrestling Championships and is also a Padma Shri Award recipient. The message he shared during the visit "Don't respect people based on their financial status" encouraged us to continue to promote inclusivity and foster stronger connections based on shared humanity and mutual respect, which aligns with the PICS Mission.

Grateful for his presence and inspiration, we look forward to fostering stronger ties for a brighter future and wish him all the best!
