1920s Charleston is a quintessential dance of the Roaring 20s, the Flappers and the Jazz Age.
The other style of Charleston is Swing Era or 1930s Charleston, which is the Lindy Hop style of Charleston from Harlem and the Swing Era. Both styles of Charleston are done by Lindy Hoppers around the world.
For Swing Era Charleston take our six week Wednesday Night Charleston that starts July 25th (Link in bio).
Charleston is both a dance in its own right, and very much part of Lindy Hop.

👯♂️Partner dancing isn’t the only type of swing dancing in our wonderful community! Learn the Shim Sham (showcased in the video), the world’s most popular solo jazz choreography! The Shim Sham is done at Lindy Hop dances all around the world.
NOTE: For those who are looking for a refresher and already know Shim Sham, Vicky will also be covering some more challenging variations and stylistic options during the class.
🕺Solo Jazz: Through her favorite solo vernacular jazz moves, Vicky will help you be confident and comfortable dancing solo socially.
Solo vernacular jazz moves are great for dancing solo, and also great for your partnered Swing dancing, which they can be incorporated into.
Take both Shim Sham and Vicky’ Solo Jazz Favourites, or just take one of these two classes, as you please.
