Japan Hub for Innovative Global Education Hub (JIGE) is an educational and human resource development initiative promoted by Kansai University-関西大学, 千葉大学 ChibaUniversity, and Tohoku University in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT).

The COIL/VE program entitled Society 5.0 & Global Leadership program will explore the following:

Today UMAP Board Members met in Querataro, Mexico for our annual in-person Board Meeting. We discussed exciting new initiatives, such as a Staff Mobility Grant Program, a Micro-Credential Capacity Building Workshop, and an Education 4.0 Training Workshops for Staff.

We are thankful for the gracious and steadfast leadership of our UMAP Chairman and Rector of Universidad de Colima Oficial, Dr. Christian Torres Ortiz Zermeño and the team from the International Affairs and Academic Cooperation Office.

We are grateful for the hospitality from our colleagues at Politécnica de Santa Rosa for coordinating ths meeting, especially Rector, Mtro. UMAP International Secretariat Director Chelsey Laird will be co-presenting with colleagues from North Island College at the conference in Calgary, Canada. The session will discuss the development of a Collaborative Online Indigenous Intercultural Learning (COI[I]L) framework as a tool that interweaves indigenous pedagogies, intercultural perspectives, and land-based approaches adapted to communities/context of the collaboration. VCC - Vancouver Community College and UMAP are proud partners on this innovative project advancing indigenous education in virtual spaces.
