Mush is helping mama get Porridge ready for her meet and greet at the adoption event today. 11-4 uptown beside Best Buy.
There are still kittens without applications so please come out and meet everyone.
We also are bringing a few more adults.
Come on down to Uptown beside Best Buy tomorrow from 11-4 if you need a new friend.
This came up in my feed today so I did a deep dive, turns out it’s true. Best to leave this part out of your cat wall if you have one. Stay safe everyone :).
Meet me Monday!
This is Porridge. She came to us at 8 weeks old from a barn. She has Spina Bifida. Porridge is an example of the long term residents that we care for at GVAC.
Help us help animals like Porridge.

Let’s Celebrate Black Cat appreciation day by finding the beautiful Teyla a forever home. She’s residing at Bosleys eagle creek location. Come check this beauty out.
Update: They’ve all been adopted!
👀 SNEAK PEEK 👀
Apollo (grey tabby male), Aurora (grey tabby female) and Nova (black female) are headed to Bosleys On Burnside tomorrow because they are up for adoption!
These siblings are 3 months old and are part of a unique litter. All of the siblings have umbilical hernias. If you’ve never heard of this before, not to fear! The umbilical hernia gets fixed during their spay or neuter.
Apollo’s hernia was quite significant so it was recommended we fix his hernia/neuter him before putting him up for adoption so he just has a bit of a ponch where his hernia was. He also got to wear a spay shirt after his neuter and had to be on cage rest so he didn’t return to his usual acrobatics and upset his recovery 🙃
These guys get along great with other cats and they’re still a bit unsure about dogs. The girls are gentler than Apollo but they’re all lovely and could have full time jobs as ASMR content creators. Their purr is infectious ☺️
If you’re interested in adopting one or a pair (or three!) of this litter, please go meet them at Bosley's on Burnside tomorrow and fill out an application at gvacrescue.ca
BONUS if you go tomorrow between 11-4 you can meet From Stray to Stay Dog Rescue’s puppies in store too!
Help us Help the Animals.
There is something so rewarding about helping those who can’t help themselves. Tax receipts given on all donations. We have $25000 in vet bills coming in this month. It’s been a really hard month.

Update: Happy to say that Penny has found a place at Amy’s Bunny Barn 💗
***COURTESY POST***
The owner has reached out to surrender this rabbit but since we have no open bunny fosters, we are doing a courtesy post. Please be aware that this is a post to help the owner find a home for the rabbit but the rescue is in no way involved. See bio below:
Penelope (Penny) is Flemish Giant who is very friendly and affectionate. She has been described as a "love bug," and is very cuddly. Unfortunately, her current carer was misinformed that she is litter trained, which is proving to not be case, and not told that she is unspayed. She has some behavioural issues, but these would be significantly improved with a spay and support from an experienced bunny parent. Her care needs are beyond the current carer's capacity, which is impacting their health (as she deals with a chronic health condition). We would be very appreciative of a takeover of care as soon as possible. Penelope has great potential to be a loving house bunny, but she requires additional support to get there through a spay combined with an experienced carer!
Note: The current carer asks that responses are compassionate and understanding of her situation. She is disabled and is now aware that she was too naive about rabbits in particular (she has successfully cared for and loved cats and rats) as well as quite significantly misinformed regarding the litter training and lack of spay especially. At this point, it is most important that Penelope receives the care she deserves without judgement.
Message us if you are interested and we will provide you with contact for the owner.

Zeyda is getting her ultrasound today and Mary a dental. I’ll send a kitten update separately. :)
Update: they are still fighting! Cricket and Grasshopper need your help and your prayers.
Go babies go! Keep those donations coming. This is a big one!
We are devastated today at GVAC.
Two of these precious babies have passed away from panleukopenia and two more are fighting for their lives at Waves. They are working hard to save them. Panluk in kittens is a devastating disease and hits them very quickly with the only option to save them being intensive supportive care.
The quote is $8000.
If you are able, please donate. If you can’t donate, please keep them in your thoughts and prayers.

Thank you Westcoast Animal Veterinary Emergency Specialty Hospital - WAVES for working hard to help them.
Panleuk can be prevented by the mama having been vaccinated. It is not typically dangerous to vaccinated animals.

These two lovely kittens are waiting to meet YOU!
Their life started outside and mama cat brought them to the kind person living on the property. Mama knows best! She’s now fixed and has committed carers who will make sure her needs are being met. Now it’s time for her kittens to find their homes 🏠
If that could be you, go meet them at Bosley's Eagle Creek and fill out an application at gvacrescue.ca
Zeyda prefers to be hand fed so we of course will be the lovely queens servants. Urinary s/d calm for the win. I think we are climbing the hill back to wellness. Have a great weekend everyone.

If you are interested in Freedom and/or Bell, please go meet them and fill out an application at gvacrescue.ca
This Sunday we are having a bottle drive. Help us help the animals!
Update,
Miss Curie will be going home Thursday. Thank you for all the shares!
Through no fault of her own Marie Curie has been returned. She is having a stay at Bosleys Eagle Creek, hoping to meet her forever family.
Marie is 2 years old and spayed and vaccinated in January. She mothered a litter of kittens and wins the award for the best mama ever, but no more babies for this sweet girl.
Marie is a little slow to warm up but is a love bug once she trusts you.
Her adoption fee is $350.

Welcome to GVAC little Winston. He wandered through a busy parking lot into a grocery store last night. Who would do that to a kitten? The road up looks better little man!
Gus and Tommy are a three year old pair of male guinea pigs ❤️ Sooke Bosley’s is taking such great care of them until they find their forever home 🏡
💛 Top 5 Reasons to Adopt Cooper and Jack-Jack!💛
1) We're very easy to please! We don't need any extra gadgets and gizmos. Give us some places to hide and a nice big space to run and play, and we'll be happy as can be! (those compressed Oxbow hay stacks to chew on are appreciated though).
2) While we may be quite shy at first, we LOVE to cuddle with you on nice fluffy blankets. Our foster mom introduced us to cat beds, and we are hooked!
3) We're still quite young and very entertaining! Our foster mom has so many pictures and videos to share with our new family!
4) We're great eaters! Jack-Jack doesn't like celery and Cooper doesn't like banana, but other than that there's no fussing about here!
5) We LOVE a good routine, and we're very good at reminding you when snack time is! Don't forget our cookie before bed!
If you’re interested in adopting this pair or any of our other small animals in care, you can fill out an application at gvacrescue.ca
