WHO Foundation
We connect donors and doers to advance WHO's mission and create a world where everyone, everywhere can live healthy lives. #ShareTheHealth
Millions of people have little or no chance of good health, simply because of where they were born, live, or work. At the WHO Foundation, we think that’s unfair and must change. We are working to improve the situation by connecting donors with amazing organizations on the ground whose projects are making a huge difference to people’s lives. Our links with the WHO mean we can make these connections
Suad, her 11-month-old twins, and their 11-year-old brother managed to flee the fighting in Sudan. They are safe for now, but the conflict has devastated health services in the country. Nearly 15 million people are in need. The World Health Organization (WHO) is delivering critical medical aid, supporting healthcare services, and saving lives in these desperate circumstances.
We’ve just launched an appeal for Sudan on our website, and we encourage you to donate today. Every contribution brings us closer to reaching those in need. Here’s the link: https://donate.who.foundation/sudan. If you can’t donate, please consider sharing this message with your family and friends. Your support makes a difference.

With climate-related disasters on the rise, schools and communities in the Philippines are prioritizing preparedness.
From typhoon drills to hazard mapping, this video by Prudence Foundation, part of the series by BBC StoryWorks, highlights how Bancal Integrated School is building resilience and empowering students to identify and manage risks.
Such a great example of investing in health with a preventive, long-term approach!
Could artificial intelligence help detect tuberculosis? Absolutely! Shravya Shetty and Dr. Sreenivasa Raju Kalidindi explain how technology developed by their organizations – Google and Apollo Radiology International – could detect and mitigate the impact of TB for individuals like Dharsinbhai Nanjiji Thakore and millions worldwide, both in India and beyond.
In Guatemala, volcanic ash plaster has proven to be a game-changer in the fight against Chagas disease, effectively keeping "kissing bugs" out of homes without the need for repeated insecticide spraying.
Chagas disease, caused by a parasite transmitted through these bugs, poses a serious health threat in rural communities across Central America. The traditional method of insecticide spraying every six months was costly and unsustainable. However, by empowering communities to use volcanic ash as a natural, long-lasting plaster, the results have been remarkable.
With support from the IDRC / CRDI, this community-led initiative not only protects homes but also empowers local residents with sustainable, affordable solutions. It's a powerful example of how investing in health doesn't always require high-tech interventions. Instead, leveraging local knowledge and resources can create a lasting impact, improving health outcomes and the quality of life for vulnerable populations.
Hello everyone!
As you might have noticed, we recently updated our look with a new logo, new colors, and a new website. We appreciate your amazing support and encourage you to message us if you have any questions whatsoever.
Thank you!

Health education plays a crucial role in tackling non-communicable diseases (NCDs), including in Jordan, where it benefits both locals and refugees. This film, part of the series, shows how awareness sessions in local health centers empower people with conditions like diabetes and hypertension to make small, impactful changes for better health.
The NCD program in Jordan is led by the Ministry of Health in partnership with the Royal Health Awareness Society الجمعية الملكية للتوعية الصحية and World Diabetes Foundation, with funding from Novo Nordisk Foundation. This initiative is a prime example of how innovation and teamwork can bring about positive change for people’s health. Well done!
In many parts of the world, power outages are a frequent challenge, especially in healthcare facilities. This can have dire consequences, particularly during critical surgeries. That's why the innovative work of Smile Train and Kids Operating Room in implementing solar-powered healthcare facilities is so inspiring.
As Dr. Amos Zacharia Muzuka from Mbeya Zonal Referral Hospital shares, "When the power goes off, I am scared." Power outages can put patients, like those undergoing cleft surgeries, at great risk. But with solar-powered solutions, we are building resilience in health systems and ensuring surgeries can proceed safely and efficiently.
The "Solar Surgery" system allows hospitals to operate independently of the national grid, ensuring continuous power for essential medical equipment. This is lifesaving technology, giving hope and a brighter future to many children and families.
Every child deserves access to quality healthcare. By investing in solar-powered health facilities, we can light up operating rooms and transform health systems worldwide.
By using biometrics to keep track of patient records, healthcare workers are creating a sustainable and effective way to provide people with the care they need. Thank you, Samuel Laate, for showing us how it works. Well done Simprints, Arm, Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance and partners – we need more projects like this!
Powered by technology from PagerDuty and Trek Medics International, the San Diego Mobile Crisis Response Team delivers timely support to individuals facing mental health or substance use crises.
This collaboration showcases how teamwork, innovation, and technological advancements can effectively address both local and global health challenges.

Human-caused climate change poses one of the gravest threats to global health. The most vulnerable, least responsible for its onset, bear the brunt, enduring severe physical, mental, social, and economic impacts.
We need to fix this. Together. Here at the Foundation, our mission is clear: to help build climate-resilient health systems and protect everyone's health. Join us on this journey!

Wonderful news! Today, Cameroon became the first country to add the new malaria vaccine to its routine immunization program. The introduction of this new vaccine is a historic step in the fight against one of the biggest killers of young children in Africa.
"I chose to vaccinate my twins because I've seen how harmful malaria can be. I'm committed to ensuring that my children get all four doses of the vaccine." - Hélène, a 32-year-old mother of six, including twins.

🏥 Despite the challenging situation in northern Gaza, Al-Shifa hospital is determined to serve thousands of patients again. Led by the WHO, a joint UN mission delivered essential medical supplies and assessed priority health needs on December 16th.
However, the hospital still faces some critical obstacles:
❌ Surgical procedures are currently not feasible.
❌ Shortage of blood for transfusions.
❌ Insufficient staffing affecting patient care.

This is what a morning looks like in west of Rafah near the Egyptian border.
Since 3 December, Rafah has been flooded with tens of thousands of IDPs seeking refuge. Shelters in the city are overwhelmed, forcing many new arrivals to settle on the streets and in empty spaces.
With the spread of diseases and dwindling access to safe water and hygiene facilities, the need for assistance will inevitably rise.
World Health Organization (WHO) is fully committed to providing healthcare support. Join us in supporting this mission: https://whofcampaigns.org/OPTFB
Every single day, WHO works tirelessly on the frontlines, supporting more than 55 emergencies worldwide, safeguarding the health of millions in times of dire need.
