With charity Bula Broads, the Banking Karma Sewing Club provides cancer bags and mastectomy pillows.
A big thank you to Savitri Devi for the 24 mastectomy pillows sewn for our collaboration with Suva Cancer Survivors. These unique pillows are funded by Pure Fiji as a continuing Pinktober donation and made from cheery Bula fabrics from Threads & Co Limited. The pillows are essential for post surgery recovery. They allow cancer warriors to sleep and heal better and provide a wound barrier on seat belts in cars for the many hospital visits. Thank you Pure Fiji and Savitri for your support of those fighting the fight of their lives!
Thank you to Manju Raj, Savitri Devi and Zeba Khalid of the Bula Broads Banking Karma Sewing Club for sewing another 24 mastectomy pillows for our breast cancer patients. We would like to thank Pure Fiji for the fabric, Dacron and machines donated during Pinktober 2023 to enable this project to continue. Over the last 5 years over 500 pillows have been donated to cancer warriors in the hospital , Suva Cancer Survivors and Fiji Cancer Society .

Suva our monthly free screening is back! Come and get yourself checked for any signs of HPV (Human papillomavirus) which could lead to cervical cancer. If you're sexually active, it's very important for you to get checked every 3 years. If you're due, come along to our clinic located at 2/333 Waimanu Rd, Suva and get checked.
Our clinic in Suva will be open from 9am-3pm from Tuesday (1st August), Wednesday (2nd August) and Thursday (3rd August) for free breast examination and pap smear test. No appointments necessary. š
Working with survivors on their pillows after breast cancer
Thank you Manju, Zeba and Savitri for sewing breast cancer drain bags and Bula Broads sparkle bags for our cancer warriors in CWM Hospital . These will be distributed by sister organisation Suva Cancer Survivors. Thank you also to Threads & Co Limited and Bula Broads for supplying the fabric for these important projects.

All volunteers with Banking Karma Sewing Club also received a Pure Fiji gift forNational Volunteers Week to recognise their awesome efforts on behalf of the cancer community . Another successful donation to Suva Cancer Survivors of our unique items for our cancer ladies in the middle of their treatments. Single mastectomy pillows help our warriors sleep and protect scars while wearing a seatbelt. The sparkle and chemotherapy bags wil be filled with items needed in hospital stays or while undergoing chemotherapy treatments. All these items have been sewn by Savitri, Manju and Zeba from fabric donated by Threads & Co Limited and Bula Broads. Thank you ladies for your community service!
