With school almost out for summer, do you know a young person who would like to join our team of Summer Temps - helping out in our shops for a few hours each week to help cover the holiday and childcare commitments of our longstanding volunteers?

Volunteering with us on a short-term basis is a great way to learn valuable new skills, meet new people and help people in your local community. We give full training and support – and you can choose how and when you volunteer.

As we enter 2023 the 2nd half, I was just wondering if anyone was feeling a little like me?

I started this year thinking right I will get to target this year but half way through and I’m not there yet!

The reality is often much more complex as I 100% believe in Slimming World but it’s me I struggle to believe in ❤️

What I’ve come to recognise is that being a Slimming World member gives me a far greater chance of success because others who attend understand, they support, they encourage and help give me that belief that I sometimes don’t have.

If you’d like to dust yourself off and try again then why not reach out to see if any of your friends or family already go to any of my Slimming World groups. That way you have support from the start 😉 If you join or rejoin their session with them then they’ll get a copy of this fab book and a free week voucher too 👍

As anyone who reads any of my posts knows, I will be eternally grateful for finding and walking through the doors of my local slimmingworld group for the very first time. Since that day, my life quality has improved 10 fold, and that has allowed me to experience many places and things I never would have had before losing over 20 stones.

If you’re reading this and are on the fence about whether to try and lose some weight, please be assured that your local group is 100% the place for you. And changing our mindset is key to this. Instead of thinking “I can’t…” we want you to think “yes, you can…”

I’ve talked often about how this was absolutely key for me. Instead of saying no to everything for fear of failure and humiliation, I started to say yes to everything. From signing up to courses, classes, opportunities, changes in work, home and eventually love life, I’d never have believed it would allow me to get where I am today.

And yet here I am. Those small incremental changes in mindset allowed me to make it all the way to target and beyond. I’m not quite there at the minute, but I know I can do it. That positivity will go a long way to allow me to get back there. And I promise you this:

“Yes you can with Slimming World!”
