So, over the weekend, this remarkable lady was promoted to Mother-in-Law 💗
I think you’ll agree that Pam absolutely nailed the ‘Mother of the Groom’ look.
That smile says it all.
A very special, truly wonderful, emotional day 🥹

on Thursday THIS happened ⬇️
That S M I L E says it all 💗
Safe travels, Pammy 🚗 So proud of you x x x
Just wanted to give a shout out to the lovely ladies who run The Shepherd and Dog at Onehouse, Stowmarket who hosted a delicious Burns Night Supper last Saturday. It was a terrifically fun night with much bag-piping, whiskey drinking and tartan wearing! But it turned out to be an emotional one too as, at the end of the night, the money raised from the raffle (and boy! was it an amazing raffle ?!) was given to me to g i v e to Pam ❤️ Thank you Jen and Emma so much for your amazing generosity.
So, just a little update - Pam had a lovely Christmas and New Year and is getting on really well with her new legs which are easier to put on and more stable on uneven ground. Her waterproof ones should be ready in March 😃 The 🚗 will soon be here too; just waiting for the date to be confirmed.
George and Eloise’s wedding is in May 🎊 and she’s really looking forward to that, already thinking about how she might wear her hair now that it is shoulder length again🥰 and then, there’s a possibility that the next stage of her facial surgery will follow. It’ll be a year since the last lot and the surgeons like to leave a year between ops.
So, things are still moving forward in a very positive direction and the messages she still receives from you guys really help. She is grateful for every single one of them 😘
How fabulous is this ❤️
Thank you so much Bury Bowl Ltd ⭐️
They’ve only gone and done it 🏆

Safe travels back to Suffolk, we can’t wait to see you !

You got it! Phil and Carl are gearing up for an exciting adventure - they’re taking on not one🏔️, not two🏔️🏔️, but three mountains 🏔️🏔️🏔️ as part of the Welsh 3 Peaks challenge, which they are doing over the weekend of the 20th October. (That’s 2 weeks today!)
They’re not going at it alone though; they’ve got a few other brave folks joining them on this journey. Their mission? To conquer Pen Y Fan, Cadair Idris, and Snowdon, all in one weekend!
And no…they’re not doing this for fun. Their climb is all about raising funds for a great cause - our Charity of the Year, The UK Sepsis Trust and Pam Driscoll. Every penny raised will be split between these two deserving recipients. 💸
If you would like to sponsor Phil and Carl on their crazy mission to climb 3 mountains in just 1 weekend - head over to our Just Giving page or pop by the office.

to the Swan Inn Lawshall
When Pam decided she would like to host a Garden Party for the family and close friends she had not seen since contracting Sepsis and combine it with thanking those that helped with her garden makeover, Pam’s ‘local’ the Lawshall Swan, seemed the perfect venue.
And Laura and Lawrence could not have been more generous or accommodating.
The double Tipi is an amazing venue in a large grassed area backing onto fields. Ahead of the event, we met with Laura several times to discuss menu options and what would work best for Pam and her guests. Laura’s ideas were great and nothing was too much trouble. On the day, the staff were so friendly and very helpful and the food was absolutely delicious.
If you are looking for a unique venue for your special occasion - we would highly recommend you speak to these guys.
We’ve eaten at the pub, we’ve partied in the tipi, we’ve drunk at the bar - the Lawshall Swan really does tick all the boxes!

After completing the gruelling Bury to Clare 19-mile walk back in June, some might think we’re a bit mad for taking on another challenge, but our determination to support our charity of the year knows no bounds!
We’re excited to announce that we are gearing up for the Welsh Three Peaks! Yes, that’s the 3 highest peaks in Wales (Snowdon, Cadair Idris and Pen Y Fan) all in the same day!
Would you like to be part of this amazing adventure? The challenge is scheduled for the 21st October 2023. We would travel up on the evening of Friday 20th 2023 to arrive ready for an early start on the Saturday, we would then be completing the challenge on the 21st - celebrate our achievements in the evening and then travel back on Sunday 22nd October 2023.
As before, all funds raised will be split between Sepsis UK and our lovely friend and Sepsis Survivor Pam Driscoll.
If you are up for it, we’d love to have you on board.
To join us, simply email [email protected] by the 20th August 2023.
We will be announcing finer details in due course.
Can’t make the Three Peaks? Don’t worry we have another pub quiz coming up at the end of September!
Details for this will be out next week!

We’d like to give a huge supporter shoutout to Indigo Ross Design and Print Ltd who have been supporting us as their charity of the year. Thank you! 🧡
So far this year they have:
- Posted about on social media
- Hosted a pub quiz in February, with 120 attendees which raised £1123.50
- Created goodie bags for the Sudbury Business Expo and the Anglia Business Exhibition with sepsis awareness resources provided by UKST
- Been selling lip balms kindly donated by Busy Bees Cosmetics
- In June they completed a 19-mile walk from Bury St Edmunds to Clare Country Park, with 38 attendees helping raise over £4,000 and counting!
The company has another pub quiz coming up in September and is also planning to do the 3 Peaks Challenge in October – all as part of their efforts to raise £6,000 in 2023, which will be split across UKST and their dear friend Pam Driscoll, who had sepsis in 2022 and has suffered life-changing complications.

🎆We have raised a whopping £4160 so far for our 19 mile walk that we completed in June. (We are still collecting money from sponsorships so the total will most likely increase).🎆
👣 Thank you so much to everyone who participated in the walk, we hope your feet have now recovered. Another huge thank you to everybody that sponsored our 19-mile walk. 👣
👁️ Keep your eyes peeled on our socials for the next events. 👁️
Overwhelmed by the support shown by this amazing group of people; each one an absolute superstar ⭐️⭐️⭐️ What an incredible achievement on what felt like the hottest day in like, e v e r !!! ☀️☀️☀️
Spent a lovely couple of hours with Pam this afternoon. Every visit is special but today was especially so.
When I arrived, I thought I’d find her tired and exhausted 😴 from her busy morning . . .
Because today was THE day she got behind the wheel again after nearly 14 months!!! Today was her driving assessment in Thetford to help establish what she will and won’t need on her very own car 🚗
The wheels are in motion (pun intended)!! Pam will be back on the roads before we know it and she absolutely cannot wait!!!
But no. No she wasn’t resting after all the mornings excitement! She was in fact digging and weeding her newly re-shaped flower beds and enjoying her garden once again 🥰 All her summer bedding and pots were lined up ready to plant too.
There are still times when it feels like two steps forward and then one back (pardon the pun) but she really is on a roll at the moment 🥹
Pam is now 2 weeks on from some facial surgeries; her top lip rebuilt and the right nostril reshaped and opened up. Stitches are dissolving and it’s all healing really well. This coming Monday she returns to Broomfield Hospital for the left nostril to be opened up and (this is the bit where ALL us girls reading will be incredibly envious!!) some tummy fat is being suctioned out!!
This fat will be put into where Pams legs finish for some extra cushioning where they sit in the prosthetics.
If you haven’t yet heard, Indigo Ross Design and Print Ltd have organised a charity walk from Bury St Ed’s to Clare at the end of June. If you’d like more info on this please drop the lovely Sam an email at [email protected]
The money raised will be split between The UK Sepsis Trust and Pam x x x

O n e Y e a r A g o T o d a y . . .
Pam frightened the absolute living daylights out of us all 😩 I still feel sick and shakey when I think back to that phone call from Sean early on that Monday morning.
Pam has proven beyond any doubt that she really is made of super strong stuff and she continues to be determined and positive
to live her absolute best life ❤️
How fabulous that the following can now have a big fat ☑️ by them :-
🛏️ Gorgeous grandkids have been for a sleepover.
🦷 Recent fabulous dental work has given Pam’s confidence a boost
🍽️ which in turn gave her the confidence to go for her first meal out in a looooong time!
🔪 Pam has a date on the calendar for the next stage of her facial surgery.
🚗 and the wheels have been set in motion (pardon the pun) for Pam to receive a mobility car!
Everything is slowly moving in the right direction and I know that the continued love and support sent to Pam, Sean and their incredible family helps so much.
As an aside, our dear friend Motty died this day 18 years ago - I for one, would like to think he had a part to play this day last year when Pam was fighting for her life.
I can imagine him saying ‘Nope. Nope . Nopey nope nope. Your not coming in here today Pam!’
Massive THANK YOU to Indigo Ross Design and Print Ltd they organised such a great event last night! So grateful for all the time and effort you all put in, it was such a great evening, they raised an amazing £1123.50!! in total for their charity of the year Sepsis UK and Mum 💗thank you to everyone that came 🙏🏼
Thanks to GB Adaptions Ltd, specialist installers of wet rooms, Pam f i n a l l y has the most super, stylish and safe space to shower comfortably 🛁
What a huge difference this has made to Pam, who continues to regain her independence slowly but surely, little by little ❤️

The Best Christmas Gift 🎄
Pam was soooo proud that her wedding ring had truly N e v e r E v e r been off her finger since the day she married Sean on June 9th 1990 ☺️ Never. Not once.
But Sepsis changed all that.
The infection initially caused Pam to badly blister and swell and sadly, there was no choice but to cut both her engagement and wedding rings off. Rosie was traumatised, knowing what it meant to her Mum that her wedding ring had never left her finger.
As the time went on it became devastatingly clear that the fingers on Pams left hand couldn’t be saved and her wedding ring might never be worn again . . . but then this happened. . .
. . Sean, Rosie and George had Pams beloved rings carefully repaired and gave them to her on Christmas morning ❤️
(I don’t mind telling you that I shed a tear when Pam sent me these before and after photos!)
Thanks to Michael Birnie Contemporary Jewellers in Bury St Edmunds, these beauties are all brand new and sparkly again and sitting together perfectly on Pams right hand ❤️
Thank you all, for the support through 2022. It has been more than incredible. I regularly get messages asking how Pam is doing - and it’s the first question you ask if I bump into you somewhere! The continuing love and care shown is aiding Pams recovery and supporting her loved ones more than you know. Wishing every single one of you a happy, healthy and peaceful year ahead ❤️
Love Michele x x x
✨UPDATE✨
🦿🦿💗 What a Moment!!! 💗🦿🦿
What an absolutely incredible day getting to witness mum walk with her new prosthetic legs 🤯 taking small but such significant & overwhelming steps for the first time in over 7 months!!!! Thinking about this day and then it actually happening! 💗 seeing the determination and strength you have is just so unreal, you never fail to amaze us all you are just superhuman! A lot of physio and practice to go but only steps forward from now on 👏🏻😌🦿🦿
Don't forget our Christmas fair next Friday evening the 25th November includes lots of BEER - come and treat yourself to a great selection of fine ales!
We would like to say a massive thank you to Steve from Stephen John Salon in Bury St Edmund's who went above and beyond during Pam's visit to his salon on Moreton Hall.
Pam left as one happy client!
So thank you Steve xx
💇♀️💈🥰
Hey everyone!
It’s been a while, so we thought you’d like a little Pam Update ❤️
As they say, time is a great healer and since coming home from hospital at the beginning of August, that’s exactly what Pam has been doing; healing! ❤️🩹
The super duper news is that her legs have healed well, and last week the casts for the much anticipated prosthetics were taken! Pam is now waiting patiently for the call to say they are ready! Physio sessions will start straight away and how blinkin’ amazing is it that she could be ‘back on her feet’ for Christmas 🤣 🎄 🦿🦿❤️
Pam’s skin is continuing to heal nicely and she is now finally free of a l l the bandages!
It’s all down to Sean really; he has done such a great job of rubbing in the magic cream 🤭 the scars are flattening and her skin is softening!
