Registered charity raising valuable funds to help fix little hearts of babies & children
Did you know… Red Sky Foundation ❤️ has an education program focused on heart health in areas of deprevation and regeneration, and we often work in communities with families living in poverty offering advice on keeping hearts healthy through exercise and better diets.
For the second year running we have proudly partnered with the lovely people from SMS - Smart Manufacturing Solutions & SMS Tech to reach those families in need. They have once again funded over £2500 of gifts for children and teenagers from Hendon in Sunderland.
To help facilitate the distribution the brilliant Jo Cooper & Rachael Brown from Back on the Map are proudly stepping in to help reach families this Christmas. Back on the Map is a fantastic charitable organisation providing so much support for residents in Sunderland and they’ve been championing the area and it’s people for many years.
This time of year in particular can be a struggle for families, so by joining forces with the staff at Toytown Washington SMS were able to purchase over 300 presents for those who potentially might not receive anything this Xmas.
Big shoutout for Craig Wood Peter Williams and Adam Smith! we’re delighted you can support these families and we look forward to continuing to work with you and Back on The Map in the new year.

Can I ask a huge favour of people following Evie’s journey?
People are so unbelievably kind and generous already. And I want to ask for one more thing. That is the push to give the gift of life. There are many journeys and Evie’s page is one that will constantly talk about the gift of life, organ donation awareness as well as dilated cardiomyopathy awareness. This awareness could be the reason that someone says yes to donation one day when they see how amazing and beautiful the kids are who are waiting and in horrendous circumstances could say yes and give that amazing legacy to their child.
People want to help and you can, by inviting people to like this page. As more people join our journey, more posts get shared and more people see the journey of waiting for a new heart. Inviting your friends and family to like and follow the page and sharing important posts out there will keep that message spreading throughout social media.
Even changing one persons mind on organ donation could potentially save lives one day 🩷

Winter temperatures present daily risks in day-to-day life and equally, it presents risks to electrical products, including defibrillators. ⛑️
The drop in temperature significantly compromises electrode pads and the life-span of defibrillator batteries - so please, please, please keep checking on your defibs!

We’re thrilled to have donated a brand new heated defibrillator cabinet to the Friends of Readhead Park after the old one needed replacing due to water ingress.
Harry (pictured) is a brilliant guardian at the bowls club making regular checks to ensure it’s available for everyone to use it in the event of a sudden cardiac arrest in the local community.
Well done Harry, you have a wonderful smile and a great reason to be happy - you’re helping to save every heartbeat! ❤️🩹🙌

Thank you to everyone who took part in the Reindeer Dash 2023! Another special event with our besties Sunderland BID helping to raise awareness and vital funds to help keep little heart beating.
There was plenty of fun being had with lots of little reindeers and their mammies & daddies hoofing it around the Bridges Sunderland. The Foundation of Light brought SAFC’s Samson The Cat along to gee the crowds up with Miss Beats and Sunderland Empire’s Panto cast members!
Shoutouts for Sunderland Bid’s Roberta and her team, Compere Andy Oliver, pre event Warm Up exercises by Kathryn Forte, face painting by BRUSH HOUR, and Holiday Inn Sunderland for the breakfast of champions for our super volunteers! An all round team effort!

We go again, people of Ashbrooke in Sunderland. This latest defibrillator installation at The Rosedene is a very special one in loving memory of Stephen Shotton 17 years in the Durham Constabulary Police & when he retired in 2015 he soon joined North East Ambulance Service in patient transport.
Although Stephen sadly passed soon after having a sudden cardiac arrest it was a defibrillator that gave his family a little extra time to share together.
Stephen served through his life and now in death as his defibrillator will give others the best chance of surviving a medical emergency in the local community.
We proudly serve you and your family Stephen.
A special thank you to The Rosedene management team pictured for accepting the role of Red Sky defibrillator guardians to help us keep it safe for all to use 24/7.

We go again!!! People of Pallion Sunderland… You’re next up, we’re proud to welcome Steels Social Club in to the family! They are going to become our latest defibrillator guardians offering to help look after the life saving device.
Steels Social Club is just across the road from the Sunderland Royal Hospital, South Tyneside and Sunderland NHS Foundation Trust and the defibrillator will be available for public use. Time is critical in a the event of a sudden cardiac arrest - every second counts. Follow the chain of survival:
