"Kravica Falls in Bosnia has a rich history as a treasured local spot. As its popularity grew, so did the crowds. The increase in visitors is evident, and the impact on the environment is concerning. While it's a must-see, it's essential we visit responsibly to keep its legacy intact. Let's be mindful tourists. "

Loch Venachar

The loch is situated between Callander and Brig o' Turk. It lies approximately 82 metres (269 ft) above sea level, and is 6 kilometres (3.7 mi) long with a maximum depth of approximately 33 metres (108 ft).

The Black Water discharges from Loch Achray into the western end of Loch Venachar, and at the eastern end emerges the Eas Gobhain which joins with the Garbh Uisge (River Leny) at Callander to form the River Teith. A small dam, which controls the water level, was built in the 19th century by John F. Bateman and is now a Listed building.

An island in the loch, Portnellan island, is an Iron Age crannog and has been designated as a Scheduled Ancient Monument.

The south shore of the loch is covered by woodland containing numerous forest tracks, some leading over the hills to the Lake of Menteith and some leading westward along the loch to Loch Achray and the Trossachs. Invertrossachs House, which was visited by Queen Victoria in 1869, is also located on the south shore.

The scotch mist of Dundonnel

Tarbert ,,,,,,Traditionally on the northern fringes of the historic County of Dunbartonshire, it is on the banks of Loch Lomond, and has a pier. It stands on an isthmus where Loch Long and Loch Lomond come close. The village of Arrochar stands at the head of Loch Long, at the other side of the isthmus. Arrochar and Tarbet railway station, on the West Highland Line, stands between the two villages. The village has a primary school (Arrochar Primary School), hotels and bed and breakfasts, and a Tourist Information Centre.

Its name comes from the Scottish Gaelic word for isthmus, although Tarbert is the more common anglicization, and Tarbat also exists.

The village is formed around the junction of the A82 (Glasgow/Inverness) and A83 (Tarbert/Campbeltown).

The area around Arrochar and Tarbet has become the scene of "squirrel wars". The red squirrel is resisting the offensive by the grey squirrel taking place across United Kingdom, since there is a type of woodland they find more favourable than most.

The Forth Bridge is a cantilever railway bridge across the Firth of Forth in the east of Scotland, 9 miles (14 kilometres) west of central Edinburgh. Completed in 1890, it is considered a symbol of Scotland (having been voted Scotland's greatest man-made wonder in 2016), and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.It was designed by English engineers Sir John Fowler and Sir Benjamin Baker.

Fun Fact It is sometimes referred to as the Forth Rail Bridge (to distinguish it from the adjacent Forth Road Bridge), although this has never been its official name

Dunnet Head (Scottish Gaelic: Ceann Dùnaid) is a peninsula in Caithness, on the north coast of Scotland.Dunnet Head includes the most northerly point of both mainland Scotland and the island of Great Britain.
The point, also known as Easter Head, is at grid reference ND202767, about 18 km (11 mi) west-northwest of John o' Groats and about 20 km (12 mi) from Duncansby Head. Dunnet Head can be seen also as the western limit of the Pentland Firth on the firth's southern, or Caithness, side (Duncansby Head is the eastern limit). Although Easter Head is the most northerly point on the Scottish mainland, the northernmost point of Scotland lies in the Shetland islands, approximately 170 miles (270 km) further north.

I keep coming back to this one and saying to myself it’s no good don’t post it. But I do like it and I don’t know why it’s just the river and the hills there’s nothing special but there is it may be because it was the start of the drive into the highlands of Scotland and that’s why my subconscious likes it so what the hell it’s posted let me know what you think it’s the river carron just north of Stirling in central Scotland

My son is learning to fly and I’m still learning new techniques of photography. I took over 300 shots to get this one shot it’s at 50mm 1/10 of a second at f4 iso 100, I was panning with the airplane as it came into land it’s such a hard shot to get I also had a 10 stop ND filter on so I could get the shutter speed that slow. You can never tell if you get the shot in camera but whilst this is not perfect I’m happy with it let me know what you think

The Kelpies is a 30-metre-high (98 ft) horse-head sculptures depicting kelpies (shape-shifting water spirits), located between Falkirk and Grangemouth,[1] standing next to a new extension to the Forth and Clyde Canal, and near River Carron, in The Helix, a new parkland project built to connect 16 communities in the Falkirk Council Area, Scotland.[2] The sculptures were designed by sculptor Andy Scott and were completed in October 2013.[3] The sculptures form a gateway at the eastern entrance to the Forth and Clyde canal, and the new canal extension built as part of The Helix land transformation project. The Kelpies are a monument to horse-powered heritage across Scotland

The river rises in the Campsie Fells before flowing into the Carron Reservoir and along Strathcarron. It passes by Denny, then between Larbert and Falkirk, then past Carron village. Just as the M9 motorway crosses the river, the Forth and Clyde canal joins the river. It then flows into the Forth near Grangemouth.[1][3] The tributary water sources are: Carron Reservoir, Avon Burn, Earl’s Burn, Auchenbowie Burn, Loch Coulter Reservoir, Bonny Water, Glencryan Burn, Red Burn, Union Canal and the Forth and Clyde Canal.[4]

Fun Fact The Carron (Gaelic: Carrann) is a river in central Scotland, rising in the Campsie Fells[1] and flowing along Strathcarron into the Firth of Forth. It has given its name to several locations in Stirlingshire, as well as a type of cannon, a line of bathtubs, two warships, and an island in the Southern Hemisphere.

I shot this in winter 2019 when there was a blanket of snow on the ground it was one of those trips I miss so much now i don't have the camper and the ability to just bu**er off for a few days

The loch is located in the hills that rise steeply from the eastern shore of Loch Ness and has an elevation of 292 metres (958 ft) . It has a surface area of approximately 500,000 square metres with a prominent inlet to the northwest and a smaller inlet to the southwest. The loch is fed by a number of small streams, most of which enter its northeastern shore from the southern slopes of Beinn a' Bhacaidh. There are a number of islets in the loch, the largest of which, Eilean Ban, lies near its northeastern shore.

Geological evidence indicates that the loch was formed in the last Ice Age approximately 10,000 years ago, and is the result of glaciation that scoured the landscape. The surrounding rock is metamorphic, mostly schists, although there are also sedimentary conglomerates formed from the metamorphic and igneous strata in the fault scarp that comprises the Great Glen. Glacial sediments can be found to the south of the loch around the southern shore of Loch Ness.
FUN FACT
Footage of the loch was used in the 1983 film Local Hero (in the scene immediately following the rabbit and the fog; the lead character's car, a Ford Cortina is stopped on the road).
The scene is taken from the B862 looking westward and some of the loch's islets can be see in the background

So this if you havent already guessed is the famous Glenfinnon Viaduct made even more famous By JK Rowling and the Harry Potter series of books and films infact Glenfinnan Viaduct has been used as a location in several films and television series, including Ring of Bright Water, Charlotte Gray, Monarch of the Glen, Stone of Destiny, The Crown,

Another unsual fact is a long-established legend attached to the Glenfinnan Viaduct was that a horse had fallen into one of the piers during construction in 1898 or 1899. In 1987, Professor Roland Paxton failed to find evidence of a horse at Glenfinnan using a fisheye camera inserted into boreholes in the only two piers large enough to accommodate a horse. In 1997, on the basis of local hearsay, he investigated the Loch nan Uamh Viaduct by the same method but found the piers to be full of rubble.Using scanning technology in 2001, the remains of the horse and cart were found at Loch nan Uamh, within the large central pylon.
The Glenfinnan Viaduct, however, was complete enough by October 1898 to be used to transport materials across the valley. It was built at a cost of £18,904.
