Come along tomorrow to our first session!
Bring anything creative along with you, poetry, music, art , craft etc.
At 7pm at EX5 Alive, by the Education Campus.
We have just had a FAB meeting discussing the potential creative arts that we could bring to Cranbrook, from acting workshops to collaborative community projects! What creative activities would you like to see/like to try out? LET US KNOW!!
The first sunny day in a very long time here in Cranbrook where Grow Eat Do volunteers were delighted to be joined by some young helpers in our annual refreshing of the community food planters. Two fantastic and young yet already very knowledgeable gardeners in the making today! Thank you to all the volunteers who are making our shared spaces beautiful and tasty 💚🫶🌱

Day 2 , restoring the planter's.
What a team effort!
John, Muhammet, Ted, Richard and Andrea all repairing, sanding and painting. On Thursday we're painting one more coat of paint, so if you fancy helping out we're meeting up between 4-5:30 on Thursday :)
Our English Conversation group is restarting after the summer break from 5 September at the Mint Methodist Church. Everyone's welcome.
With the help of local people we’re in the process of restoring the community planters we have adopted. You may notice they are a little bare, and we’re keen to fill them again with edible herbs. If you have cuttings you would like to donate we would be grateful (but not mint because that takes over the whole thing!) - thank you! 💚🌱💚
Happy to be part of this achievement.....
Very grateful to have the support of Cranbrook chippie Jon, Mohamed and our fantastic ranger today! Despite the rain the team worked hard to restore the planters outside the Younghayes Centre. We have yet to seal and repaint them and hopefully that will keep them going a few more months 🤞. Big thanks to you all for being so generous with your time 🙌
We’re also on the look out for herb cuttings and seedlings! If you have some established please send them our way! Video from one of our smaller helpers in the comments!
# Taking place this Bank Holiday Monday #
What a lovely event the Culture club is setting up in August !
The plant below is feverfew, a beautiful yet bullish herb with medicinal properties… but sadly now disappeared from one of our raised beds🙁
Please do take cuttings (cuttings help to stimulate the plant’s growth, and keep them robust and shapely), but please don’t take the whole thing! It means others can’t enjoy them or reap the benefits, and at this time of year plants don’t like being dug up and moved, so it is unlikely to survive anyway 😔
No-one is 'practically perfect in every way'. Camerados know that it's ok to be a bit rubbish sometimes, it's one of the principles that movement folk use, it enables them to be more human alongside others.
Delighted to bring our pop-up living room to today. Another incredible community event hosted by the
The best year yet! There’s always a real spirit of friendliness, celebration and community at this event.
Really nice to share a space with the Culture Club and Cranbrook road safety campaign.
We are looking forward to seeing you tomorrow at Cranbrook festival. We'll be hosting the Public Living Room :)
We are looking forward to seeing you all at the Cranbrook Festival tomorrow.
We're hosting a public living room, come for a sit down and a chat.
Connect 4 anyone?
The herbs in the planters outside the Younghayes Centre are going rampant! Please help yourself, especially to the mint and parsley, which will help to stimulate the plant to grow fresh and strong!
Mint is perfect for your tea and for your Pimms, and parsley is great in virtually any dish.
These are community planters funded by community grants, so they are yours to use!
If you live nearby and notice the planters need a drop of water, please go ahead and water them - that would be amazing, as Grow Eat Do volunteers don’t always manage to get there 💚🌱
We will again be at Cranbrook Festival on Saturday the 17th
, hoisting a public Living Room ( a space where people can relax with a cuppa, have a chat , play games or with some lego )
We would love to have some volunteers , so ifyou would like to join the fun , even for an hour , please comment below or message us :)
(we need people mainly between 12-5pm )
The parsley has gone wild in the planters outside the Co-op! So be sure to cut yourself a bunch before it bolts completely.
All the herbs are doing well right now, but the hot weather is a lot to contend with for the more tender herbs in this un sheltered, unshaded site.
If you are passing, please do help yourself to a posh of fresh herbs for your salads or meal. All organic, all locally grown, all gorgeous 🌱🌱🌱
(If you live nearby and would like to water the planters now and again, please do so - any help looking after the community herbs is welcome)
Public Living room is go!
Cake, juice and a chat at chaffinch rise!!
All ready for the public living room at the playground by Chaffinch rise
Taking place this Sunday !
Great that residents are remembering that the herb planters are there for their use!
We’re looking into getting a grant to replace the planters (which are fairly old now) and are hoping to work with Co-Create to build them with members of the community, so watch this space!
Hope you enjoy your soup, Lisa 💚
