We need YOUR HELP! We have a mountain of craft supplies thanks to some very generous donations from members of our community 💛🧡🩷 But - we're pretty short on storage 😬😑🫣
We need to make a dent in our supplies ASAP - so we would love for a few of you to join us - and the MILK Makers - on the afternoon of Saturday 16th March.
We'll set up some craft stations for making bunting / pom poms / cards / artwork (if you have a particular skill or idea, please let us know), etc. We'll keep you hydrated with tea and filter coffee - hopefully, we can collectively produce some lovely handmade stock for our Mini Milk Market ♻️ and free up some space!
📧Limited spaces - [email protected]
This is a free event - with all crafts donated to Milk's Market on March 23rd.
👋 Hope your day is going well!?

Your mental health still matters at Christmas. 💚
Christmas can be a joyful time. It can also be lonely or stressful. It can even be a combination of these things at once.
If you're struggling over Christmas, know that you're not alone. Remember that these helplines are here, when you need someone to talk to who will listen, without judgement, and help you find your way through.
An illustrated advent for your mind: what are your glass and rubber balls?
Is the juggle mounting? Does the to do list seem like an impossible mountain to climb? There’s only so much we can juggle, and sometimes we need to drop some balls so we can focus on what’s really important.
The problem is we tend to see doing it all as being successful, while letting balls drop is a failure. Let’s reframe this….. dropping the less important stuff lets you focus and spend time doing what’s really important….. dropping balls can be a huge achievement. All have us have limited capacity and brain space, so there’s only so much we can keep up in the air at one time.
We looked at shaking it off in a previous post, but how do we know what balls to drop? Sometimes you need to actively think about this so let’s bring it back to what’s really important to help with this. Which balls really matter to you and/ or it would really matter or make a difference to you or those you love if you dropped. These are your glass balls. You want to hold on to them because they are important.
Now which balls don’t really matter- which would make very little difference if you dropped them (and in fact might make things a bit better as you can focus on those important glass balls?). These are your rubber balls- dropping them doesn’t really matter you can let them bounce away. They can always be found and picked up later if you need to.
None of us can juggle everything and sometimes letting balls drop is not a failure. Actually it can be a huge success and be beneficial to you and your mind, freeing up time and brain space for what really matters.
What rubber balls could you let bounce this Christmas?
An illustrated advent for your mind: This image is adapted from my second book ‘A Toolkit for Happiness’. Today’s simple, but often hard to implement idea, is incorporate breaks and rest into your day.
Christmas is often a really busy time of year, with a to do lists longer than Santa’s list. Today’s idea for wellbeing seems really simple, but often it requires a big shift in mindset to let you do it.
Breaks and rests throughout the day are vital for wellbeing. They allow our body and brain to Down regulate, reduce stress, and help support healthy brain and body functioning. They improve our cognition functioning, help us work and function better, and longer term support our mental health and wellbeing. There even evidence that getting up from your desk for 5 minutes every hour during the workday improves wellbeing!
But our own beliefs can get in the way as we believe we should be productive and view rest as luxury or something to feel guilty about. Actually they are necessary for our health and happiness.
Here’s some ideas to help you incorporate rest period into your day:
⭐️ Mark breaks or rest periods off in your diary so you take them and, if working remotely, you will not be disturbed.
⭐️Set a timer every hour to get up for a few minutes and just even walk round the house or office to get a cuppa.
⭐️Agree to have a break with someone else- you are more likely to do it.
⭐️Get outside.
⭐️schedule in ‘to don’t’ time when nothing can be added to your calendar
⭐️Mini breathing breaks. Take a few slow breaths and ground yourself
⭐️Take time to reflect during the day. What have you achieved, what are your priorities.
⭐️If you have children plan activities they can do themselves so you can sit down for a few minutes ( has great ones)
⭐️Shift your view of downtime from something to feel guilty about to a necessity to look after your mind and body.
⭐️Take technology out of the pictures- it increases your stress response.
⭐️Plan activities that relax you as an integral part of your day, not an add on
In what ways can you shift your mindset around rest, or find way to include rest in your day?
