Rowner Infant School
Infant School
Our Year 2 leavers have had the best fun afternoon which has included a silent disco, bouncy castle, photo booth, glitter tattoos and sweet treats.
We would particularly like to thank our staff, PTA volunteers and, local businesses who have made this possible.
Photos to follow on Monday.
We are very excited to announce that in September, Woodpeckers Childcare will be running before and after school provision at our school.
This will run from 7.30 am each morning and, after school, will run through to 5.45 pm in the evening.
Please click the link below to make an enquiry for September.
Home – Top Bar Woodpeckers opens its doors at 7.30am offering children a selection of cereals, toast with various toppings, and drinks right up until 8.10am. Each child is given their own toothbrush and case along with toothpaste allowing them to join in with our “Healthy Teeth” policy.
We would like to thank the school staff, parents and Governors who came into school for the Ground Force Day yesterday. Despite the awful weather, we managed to get a lot done! We mostly focused on the gated playground area. This was a huge job but, we did manage to remove most of the surface in preparation for laying turf in the summer.
To enable us to finish this and other jobs, we are going to hold another Ground Force Day this Sunday between 9 and 3.
It would be great to see you. Even if you can only spare an hour!
It's official! Our new Caretaker, Mr Wilson, now has his name on the school sign. We are so lucky to have him join our team and he has already made a big impact on making improvements to the school site.
Today, we have written to our parents and carers to share the result of our recent graded Ofsted inspection.
We are extremely proud and delighted to inform you that the overall judgement is that we are, officially rated as a GOOD school.
Here are just some of the positive comments made by the lead inspector in the report:
‘Rowner Infant School is welcoming, inclusive and nurturing’
‘Staff care deeply for the pupils well-being’
‘The school has made significant improvements since the last inspection’
‘This is a school that works hard to meet the needs of all pupils no matter what their background or barriers in life’
‘Pupils have trusting relationships with adults’
'Pupils are happy and safe’
‘There is a strong team spirit at the school, staff morale is high’
‘The overwhelming majority of parents are delighted with the school. They typically comment that their children thoroughly enjoy school'
This is a fantastic achievement for everyone in our school and the entire Rowner Infant community. I will hope that you will join us in celebrating this great success and spread the word to the entire community just how amazing our school is and how exceptional its children and staff are.
Next week, we plan to celebrate with the children and will be having class parties on the afternoon of Thursday 18th July. On this day, the children can come in to school wearing non-uniform/party clothes and we will provide them with a treat filled afternoon. We will also be sharing this with the wider community via the local newspaper (watch this space).
