Fantastic feedback from a longstanding client.
***That's me signed off from orthopaedics, consultant was well pleased with my movement and xray was so balanced. Ros McKenna did say enthusiasm for rehab was essential and she believes every one should do at least 10 minutes pilates every day. To congratulate Lynne on her guidance and care. ***

23/11/2023

What fantastic feedback! One of my new clients was in happy tears this morning, she hasn’t had to take any painkillers since her last class…. two weeks of Pilates 👌🥰

20/11/2023

Just on the off chance, are any of you interested in beginners tap and ballet. Some spaces have opened up in our small (private group) class.
It’s good exercise and good fun.

Great classes last week everyone, I suppose a wee bit of the “physioterrorist” came out in me 🤪🤔 This week is the last week in this block, so only five more weeks of Pilates before we finish up for Christmas 🎄 It has to be the exercise balls this week, it’s been a while; a favourite of many of you. 🥰😊

*** Spaces have opened up in the very popular Thursday morning class. ***

Realistic Pilates is for '"real" people with "real" bodies with "real" conditions.
The focus is on posture and alignment, aiming to put your body into its optimum position and train your muscles to hold it there.
Sometimes 'big' moves, for example "sit ups" or curling up, or holding both legs up in the air balancing on the base of your spine isn't really working your core, but instead you are using bigger "global" muscles rather than the smaller "local" muscles and possibly hurting your back in the process.
It doesn't have to be "no pain, no gain", sometimes "less is more" as you will often hear me saying.
Moves are modified to suit each individual client, working at their own level, challenging their body with each move rather than finding it a struggle and ending up using the wrong muscle groups.
Speaking and teaching Pilates as a Physiotherapist, it's so important to be aware of and use/train these muscles following treament with Physiotherapists, Osteopaths and Chiropractors.
Realistic Pilates can benefit so many clients, with a mulitude of "problems"/ conditions.
