Another great success for Springfield Youth Academy!
On the 17th of July, Health and Social care students from Chaucer Secondary School, Sheffield, had a unique opportunity to visit the The Chocolate Works Care Village. The purpose of the visit was to grant students an opportunity to explore careers and understand career progression in social care.
According to Tracey, "the students were absolutely amazing β the compassion and interaction with the residents was fabulous, and they asked really relevant questions β it was a really positive visit, so much so that the students all want to club together and live in York so they can work there! We definitely have some of the workforce of the future from the students that attended β they were phenomenal."
Due to the success of the visit, students will be offered to attend Chocolate Works on an annual basis. Well done, Tracey!

There was much cause for celebration, with lots of singing, dancing, and 70s-themed fun shared all around.
We would like to extend a huge thank you to our wonderful sponsors, who make memorable nights like this possible.
Over the next few days, we will be sharing each of our worthy home care award winners on our page, so keep an eye out! πΈ
Some of our lovely customers from the Springfield day centre participated in the Darlington Carnival on Saturday 29th June.
As part of their work with the wider community, members of our Day Services Team helped to make costumes and props to contribute to the theme of the carnival.
This year, the theme was nature. They used bowler hats to craft birds nests and natural materials to create shaman sticks that our customers carried through the parade. Our day centre at Springfield worked together with other day groups in the community to ensure all participants were dressed the part!
It looks like it was a fabulous day enjoyed by all! πͺ
You can read more about the day (and spot Springfield) in the Northern Echo, here: https://www.thenorthernecho.co.uk/news/24420150.fun-filled-pictures-darlington-community-carnival-2024/
