This year will be my 3rd year volunteering with FAB Camp - Families' Activity Breaks for bereaved military families.
As a volunteer therapist, my place is funded by the charity, which includes food, accommodation, transport while onsite, and access to all the activities.
The price per person is just over £1000.
My goal this year is to fund my place and raise the profile of this incredible charity so that more families can access this much needed service.
No family wants to be a member of this group, where a loved one has died while serving in the Armed Forces; but this charity connects those families under the love and care of currently serving or veteren service men and women, creating an invaluable and unique support network for them.
To raise this money, I am doing presentations, and providing treatments for donations towards FAB, but I still need some help if I can raise enough money to make my place cost neutral to the charity.

A rare smile while training.. skyscraper challenge commencing in T-7! This time next week I’ll be on my starting blocks 🏃🏻♀️ 🏙️ 🧗♀️
10 days to go… 2 more training sessions of running up 78 floors in the training building. So nearly there. Feeling ready for the London Landmark Skyscraper Challenge for MS Society!
Crikey - it’s all very real now! The training is going really well and am getting ready to get on and do it!
FAB week done - my favourite week of the year. 30 treatments done in 4 days. Am absolutely shattered, bruised, and emotional, but wild horses wouldn’t keep me away. Maybe that’s an idea for next year since skiing backwards downhill wasn’t daredevil enough…? 🤔
A month ago me and the team raised over £500 at the coffee morning for MS Society. The training is in full flow now for the Skyscraper Challenge! Can now complete 36 floors without falling over!
£518.69 raised for MS Society today at the fundraising coffee morning!
Blown away by everyone’s generosity and by how many people came for a cuppa!

Often clients come for a treatment as a form of protecting their own time, identity, and engaging with self-care.
Sometimes we need someone to reminder us that we need to reinvest time in ourselves.
I spend most of my working week, gently reminding clients that they deserve to feel better, cared for, and are worth prioritising.
As I say, you should always put your own oxygen mask on first before helping others.
But even I forget to care for myself.
It took a loving intervention and (and let’s be honest, Gin, lasagne, and pyjamas) from one of my closest friends to realise that I was neglecting myself. She gently reminded me to take some time for myself to relax and that I don’t have to work so hard at life all the time.
A big believer in paying things forward, here is your Saturday reminder to do something for yourself. Just you.
Reflection. This is something I definitely something I need to work on. Being a busy fool helps very few people and only serves to lead us to burnout. As some of you know x

Open and non-judgement conversations are equally valid elements to any treatment. Creating an opportunity to process, adjust, or release a pressure valve is valuable. For some people it’s a point of illumination, for others it’s a growth point on their journey. If we are silent, how do we develop and learn?
Spring is a magical time of the year - but no one knows what to wear! Is anyone else still wearing bobble hats and thick scarves?
When you get to that stage in a practitioner-client relationship when they start to take the p**s out of you… absolute magic! The release of endorphins from physical touch paired with a proper giggle to release even more feel good hormones makes for one wonderfully uplifting treatment!
Some days we feel anchored in the past and are perhaps blinkered, ignoring what is to be grateful for right in front of us.
While unrealistic to always “be happy” and keep focussed on the now; this quote might help to reset yourself to reconnect with hope.
The world can be a beautiful place, with even more beautiful people in it.

You’ve been warned!
The latest blog by Hummingbird explains how Reflexology can help reduce anxiety and stress. Sometimes life feels heavy and unmanageable. It’s at this point we need to take stock and step up self care.
Love this! I’m all about a small habit that over time creates big change.
My latest habit it doing one self care activity per month, just for me, to help keep my mental and physical health… in tact!
Because I’m rubbish at building in time everyday and I’m not at the point to effectively meditate or be mindful on my own, booking an activity ensures that that is a non negotiable hour for myself. Even if it is just once a month.
So far I have:
- been to the Turkish baths (first week of Jan)
- had a haircut (last week in Jan)
- spent time in a hot tub (over the weekend just gone)
- book a massage treatment (hopefully in the next couple of weeks)
Personally, this gives me something to mentally latch on to and look forward to.

Spending time with my family, especially my incredible big sis, makes my heart sing and raises the vibration of my soul.
