I'd also like to take this opportunity to thank you all for your support.
Having to stop face to face classes and take my business online overnight was a huge challenge, but I'm so glad I did it.
For those that have joined me online, I thank you from the bottom of my heart. Not only has it meant I have kept my business afloat (meaning we can return face to face in the future), but having a purpose has kept my mental wellbeing afloat too. I am always amazed by your dedication and enthusiasm, despite not being face to face. Seriously, you are all amazing. ๐
For those who have been unable to join me online, I understand it's not suitable for everyone, and I can't wait to see you back face to face at the earliest opportunity! ๐ค
Yes, we will still be doing online classes in the new year, who knows when I will be able to teach face to face again! ๐คทโโ๏ธ
But rest assured, as soon as I can return, I will, because I miss you all.

My update on fitness classes

MY RESPONSE TO THE UPDATED GOVERNMENT GUIDELINES ON GROUP EXCERCISE AND COVID-19 (Long post)

The key points from the update are listed at the bottom of this post, but my stance is as follows - I don't want to rush back to face to face classes!
There's lots to consider:
- I'll have to drastically reduce the numbers allowed in each session,
- I'd have to clean the hall before and after each class,
- I'd have to implement social distancing and one way systems,
- we can't play loud music or use fans to cool the air!! ๐ฑ
So basically, I'd rather continue keeping people fit and healthy, but safely, online, and with with as many people as possible, rather than turning people away and working extra hours on implementing all these guidelines below.
With regards to how long the online classes will continue, well it's as long as there is demand for it (use it or lose it as they say ๐) and until I am confident I can make it as safe as possible to return in person.
My gut instinct says we won't be back face to face before September at the earliest!!
Although I can't wait to see you all again in person, it is my job to deliver a safe and effective class, and I don't want to risk the safety of anyone!

9th JULY - Update! -
This afternoon the government made an announcement which supports the slow return of indoor physical activity.
Top Takeaways from the new guidelines:
๐ Minimum of space required per participant is 9.23 square metres (100 ftsq) for stationary activity where the participant does not leave the spot. Where movement is required, you must stick with social distancing of 2 square metres in all directions meaning for movement 16 square metres per person ( 172.2ftsq) is required. Where possible, spaces should be marked out on the floor
๐ Time must be left in between classes for full cleaning meaning no back to back sessions, unless you have the exact same group of people.
๐ Booking system is essential, as is a cashless payment system. No drop ins
๐ There must be a one way system around the venue
๐ Outside queues must be socially distanced
๐ You must not encourage any loud music or anything which would need anyone including the instructor to raise their voice.
๐ Ventilation can only be one way ventilation. No device which distributes re-circulated air is allowed. So no air con or fans
๐ "Given the high risk of transmission from visiting instructors, where possible, a private testing programme for rotating instructors should be established". This is a HUGE one for anyone renting community spaces which are indoors
๐ Outdoor guidelines are not relevant for my classes as I would have to seek a licence from the council, numbers are still reduced outdoors and the weather is far too unpredictable.
