Next year is going to be very exciting for JFF, with great performance opportunities. The children will be sparkling and shining at a Christmas concert in December at the Riley Smith Hall, and the rights to perform High School Musical next summer have been applied for. JFF gives school children of all ages the opportunity to perform in a safe and happy environment allowing their confidence to soar. Spaces available in some groups in Wetherby and Tadcaster. Preparations for next year's show are now underway. Going to need cycling shorts to wear under cheerleader skirts. Any colour at the moment so please save any cycling shorts or leggings/tights that can be cut down to make shorts. I would appreciate it if you would share with any other groups/chats you are in. Hundreds of hours of preparation and it’s over in a flash. There will be some very tired children (and adults) tonight. Each and every one of them should be incredibly proud of themselves, and I am so proud of each and every one. Only got about 50 bags of costumes to sort out now 🤦🏽‍♀️. Huge thanks to the chaperones, front of housers, costume sorters, and everyone else who has helped in any way

What a day! Kids of Boston Spa JFF you were AMAZING and I am so incredibly proud of you all. Hope you all sleep well, and parents enjoy the break from the emails! Hope you agree that it was worth it! Sleep now and here’s to doing it all again tomorrow with JFF Tadcaster and Wetherby. So so proud 🥰

7am….. the calm before the storm

That’s it! Last number rehearsed, programme sent to printer, 180ish very excited wonderful children and one very proud Director! Huge thanks to the extremely talented Mari Roslin and Julian Taylor and not to mention my rock Alan Lawn. Two more sleeps (if I get any)! JFF parents you are in for a treat 🤩

Desperately need grey trousers (bigger sizes as for high school children) and white shirts that can be dirtied/torn. Please share with any groups you are on

Anyone got any old grey school trousers that can be cut down for costumes please?

Hi all! I need approximately 10-12 skirts/dresses for one of the numbers we are doing in our upcoming show. Does anyone have anything they could loan us or know any sewing groups who might be willing to make some skirts (will pay). Please let me know if you can help x

Calling all local businesses!!! JFF’s next production will be on 15/16 June at the Riley Smith Hall. We are looking for local businesses who are interested in advertising in our programme. The programme will be A5, professionally printed and will go out to a large audience both days. Ads cost £30 for a quarter page, £50 for a half page and £90 for a full page. Please drop me a DM if you would like an advert or would like any further information. All funds raised go towards the production of the show, meaning we can provide costumes, props, set and rehearsals at no extra cost to parents.

What a blast we have had at holiday club this week! Ending with our favourite giant den-building! Not quite sure who had most fun - the kids or the helpers! Massive thanks to Brian Slingsby and all the cardboard collectors at Fourplus4-Leeds for the collection and delivery of cardboard - same again in October please 😉🙏🏻. Two exciting disney-themed holiday clubs coming up in summer- pm for details.

There are a few places left for children in year 3&4 in Wetherby on Tuesday and Tadcaster on Thursdays, and high school children in Tadcaster on Thursdays. All other groups are now full. Not a drama school, but a fun theatre group giving all children the opportunity to perform regularly. We meet weekly and perform at least once a year. For more information please call 07793557932. Back by popular demand! Our annual quiz night will be on Friday 2 February 2024. Our chosen charity to support this year is tbc - suggestions welcome.

Do any drama groups/schools want a “car” for their set? This is the car we used in our production of Grease (school edition) earlier this year. Unfortunately I don’t have anywhere to store it, ao if anyone wants it and can collect it from Boston Spa you are welcome to it. It is on wheels and has working headlights.

Most groups for September are now full. There are 2 spaces for reception to yr 2 children in Tadcaster (Boston and Wetherby are full). All other groups in BS are full, but there a few spaces in Tadcaster and Wetherby for children in year 3 upwards.
