I was asked a little while ago to start up a mat Pilates class in Snape. I've just been chatting to the organiser there and it looks like the only time that they/I could do, is a Friday morning, every other week for 1 hour, probably at 9.30 or 10am. Would this be of interest to anyone?

After every treatment, I ask the client to pick one of 's cards just as a bit of fun. You wouldn't believe how accurate these can be! I'm down to the last card in the deck of 52, and this is the message for today.

It's so easy to forget our capacity to help other people, just with our thoughts, words and actions. We all wish we could donate more money to charity and to volunteer our time. But life sometimes doesn't allow these things. We do, however, have the power to make a massive difference - just with a kind word, a smile, or simply sending someone love through the cosmos, from your heart to theirs. Never underestimate how tiny gestures can be received as miracles to those in need ✨️

It's been wonderful sharing these practises with you all, I do hope you keep up the good work. I shall let you know on here and via email when I'm next ready to teach. There will certainly be more yoga and Pilates on the way, after a rest and a re-set.

Hi everyone,

For the benefit of those not regularly attending my private classes, or those who have not been at Bedale Leisure Centre this week…

I’ve decided to take a little break from teaching weekly classes. Sadly, the money I earn from teaching, massages and my little reception job, just isn’t enough to pay the bills. For some time now, I've been exhausting myself trying to make it all work. I have become very attached to the idea of being a yoga teacher! (We talk about attachment a lot in yoga…) So much so, I’ve been ignoring the reality of my situation. I can’t feasibly keep earning the amount I do, and I’m burning out trying to make it all work.

My focus for now will be in my little treatment room, (recently refurbed, check out the photo below,) above REENA on Bedale Market Street, offering Ayurvedic yoga massage. (I’ve just started to experiment with Reiki too… More on that soon…) I’ll be doing this alongside a new part time job.

Letting go of a class is a decision that most yoga teachers take reluctantly. We know that those moments in Savasana at the end, are often the only time that people permit themselves to relax throughout a whole week. We do this work because we believe that humanity needs it. And as much as we try to be yogic about things, and not feel responsible for your wellbeing, if we’re honest, (and human,) in a small way, we do.

And so, with that in mind, I'll keep my monthly chill out night, Unwind Your Mind - yoga and meditation for busy brains, at Morton on Swale village hall. The next one is next Friday the 10th May at 7pm. And once I've recharged the batteries and earned some money, I’ll be back with a pop up event or workshop.

I'd like to thank you all for your kindness and support. Relocating from West to North Yorkshire has been fairly challenging. Connecting with like minded people really has been a blessing. I’m grateful to have made new friends from our time together.

But’s its not the end… Just see you on the mat again soon… 😉

Into astrology? Read on... Thanks for writing this Isabel 🥰

Oh boy, there is so much going on with the planets right now! If you've been feeling more irritable, frustrated and emotional than normal, this could be the reason. Here are a few pointers that I hope will help you keep your equilibrium while all around seems to be chaos...

1. THE most important thing you need to do at the moment to support yourself is make sure you are getting enough sleep, rest and relaxation. It is absolutely not selfish, it's essential.

2. Double check everything - communications, paperwork, documents, work - everything! If you can put something off until the end of April then do so.

3. Now is a great time to be journalling, or to be more precise, get mental dumping, get all the thoughts down on paper and out of your head!

4, You might well be coming up against some challenges. Rather than going at them all guns blazing, go steady, look carefully at what is happening and why, then carefully pick it apart. The analogy I heard is, imagine you have a knot in a gold chain, you can't just pull it apart you have to carefully unravel it, this is the same.

5. Cultivate the quality of patience, with yourself and others, and if you need to retreat for a little while that's absolutely fine, be kind to yourself.

We're doing lots of Parighasana, Gate pose, in March. As the liver and gall bladder are the organs of Spring, this pose is great for massaging and stretching these 2 important organs of detoxification and digestion. I'll also include an especially long yoga nidra as an extra Easter treat 😴

Drop in is £10.

Thank you so much to everyone that attended our fundraising event, to help raise some of the money to get Sally to the competition. Thank you Alison for all your organisation and help. And a very big thank you to all of those that couldn't make it but still contributed. We raised £280 altogether.

In an increasingly polarised world, let's try to remember that we are way more powerful when we work together, despite our differences, to help other people, and have some fun! Most people want to do good in the world. Never stop looking for the good 🙏❤️

This delicious style of yoga, that's done entirely on the ground, uses a variety of props to support, stretch and open your body whilst you just flake out! Minimal effort - maximum benefit.

Restorative yoga can:

We have just 4 spaces left on our Fusion Flow Fundraiser, taking place this Saturday morning, here at the Chantry Hall in Bedale.

We're raising funds for a talented rider, (part of Richmond and Catterick Riding for the Disabled,) to have the chance to compete in a big competition at national level. But she can't do it alone...

Between 9.30-11am this Saturday, (24th Feb,) for a donation of £16, I'm hosting a class called Fusion Flow. A mix of yoga, Pilates and a few other movement styles fused together, to create a fun, upbeat and energising work out. After we've done the hard work, I'll guide you through a deep relaxation experience. You'll leave feeling buzzy & bright, and you'll have helped our rider take another step closer towards her dreams!

Talented local rider, Sally, has big dreams despite her multiple physical disabilities.
She has ambitions to compete at National level in the demanding equine sport of dressage at the RDA National Championships at Hartpury, Gloucestershire, in the autumn.

Though supported and coached by Richmond & Catterick branch of Riding for the Disabled, she needs extra help to make a leap into elite competition.

There’s much to be funded; horse and arena hire, specialist tuition, transport and accommodation costs for horse, rider and carer, not to mention entry fees and insurance…

So we're throwing a special class to help raise some funds!
