Whilst having lunch with a friend today I noticed that the baby changing facilities were located in the ladies toilets - and this has highlighted to me that we still have a long way to go in this country.

It grabs me that not having baby change facilities in both sets of toilets - or even a totally separate area - is only reinforcing the ancient views that 'bringing up baby' is a 'womans' job. This needs to change and it needs to change NOW.

I really feel for all parents and carers, whatever their circumstances, who are out with their children but cant care for them in the way that they should be able to.

So what can we do about this? Well, firstly, if you visit a pub, restaurant, cafe (or any venue for that matter) that doesn't have a baby change area available for ALL families and carers to use, then please ask to speak to the manager and challenge them. The chances are that they just haven't considered the necessity of having these facilities available to all and that they just need pointing in the right direction.

I keep saying I'm exhausted.

What right do I have to say that when I'm not being forced to work over 100 hours a week? I don't have to ask permission to leave the house and I can come and go as I please. My passport is sat next to me and I have spent my whole adult life actually receiving the money that I've earned. And that money is legal and well above what I'm entitled to.

Slavery still exists.

Experienced, Active, Temporary Childcarer needed ASAP

Ealing Nanny & Childcare Agency are looking for an amazing Nanny or Manny for a position with two young children.
The family have a boy aged 5, who attends the local primary school and a little girl of 15 months at home. They are looking for someone who is active, loves the outdoors and is conscious of health and safety while the children are in their care.
This role is to start ASAP and will run until September. 3 days per week (Tues-Thurs), 9-5. Dad works away from home and Mum is returning to work next week. This is a sole-charge role.
A qualification isn't so important to the family, though they would like someone who is experienced and over 23 years old.

A wonderful family in South Ealing/Northfields are looking for a fun, bubbly and extremely caring and experienced nanny to care for their two children aged 2 and 4 years old, starting in September.
• 2.30pm to 6pm Monday to Friday
• Collecting from nursery and school
• Planning activities and playdates
• Cooking healthy meals

School holiday cover would be a requirement as well as a clean licence for the school pick-up; a car is provided whilst on duty.
This is a 1 year contract, with a September start. Salary dependant on experience and qualifications but in the area of £12-£16 an hour (gross).
You will need to have a current first-aid certificate, DBS check and great references.
