While shooting a documentary about “missing” civil servants, a filmmaking duo stumble upon Haroula (Eleni Kokkidou) a distraught, overprotective Greek mother searching for her missing son. But when his name is linked to government fraud with a foreign female accomplice, Haroula sets out her other, wheelchair-bound son, Lefteris (Julio Katsis) to clear his name. With the help of a taxi driver and a less than helpful group of antifa misfits, the crew follows Haroula on her quest to bring her son back home, even at the cost of uncovering some unexpected truths.

A celebration of the most iconic – and much missed – homegrown star of the 21st century, BACK TO BLACK tells the extraordinary tale of Amy Winehouse.
“There are other, tougher, bleaker ways to put Winehouse’s life on screen – but Abela conveys her tenderness, and perhaps most poignantly of all her youth, so tellingly at odds with that tough image and eerily mature voice.”
Peter Bradshaw, The Guardian

Screens all this week if you are yet to catch it.
Winner of the Un Certain Regard prize at the 2023 Cannes Film Festival, HOW TO HAVE S*X is a vibrant and authentic depiction of the agonies, ecstasies and ride-or-die glory of young female friendship, from rising British filmmaker Molly Manning Walker.
Three British teenage girls go on a rites-of-passage holiday, drinking, clubbing and hooking up in what should be the best summer of their lives. As they dance their way across the sun-drenched streets of Malia, they find themselves navigating the complexities of s*x, consent and self-discovery. Captured with luminous visuals and a pitch-perfect soundtrack, Manning Walker’s directorial debut paints a painfully familiar portrait of young adulthood, and how first s*xual experiences should – or shouldn’t – play out.
